Among all unsigned wide receivers across the NFL, Tyreek Hill is currently the fourth-best available according to PFSN’s NFL Free Agency HQ. He certainly has the most prestigious resume of the bunch.
Hill is now 32 years old and coming off a torn ACL that he suffered early in the 2025 season. However, the eight-time Pro Bowler was on pace for over 1,000 receiving yards last year with the Miami Dolphins before getting hurt, and he led the NFL in receiving yards in 2023. There’s still hope he can contribute at a star-caliber level.
Whenever Hill gets to closer to signing with a team, these are the five franchises that would make the most sense as landing spots for the future Hall of Famer.
Kansas City Chiefs
The most obvious link for Hill would be a return to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he won a Super Bowl and spent the first six years of his NFL career. They even brought back former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to return to his previous role, and it feels like the gang is getting back together for one more Super Bowl run before Travis Kelce and Andy Reid retire.
Patrick Mahomes already has Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy at wide receiver, but Rice has had issues with availability, and Worthy didn’t take the Year 2 leap many had expected. Hill would give the Chiefs a reliable third option at the position, and his existing chemistry with their top offensive minds would be extremely beneficial.
New England Patriots
Would the New England Patriots be willing to replace the controversial, older star wide receiver they just released with another controversial, older star wide receiver? Replacing Stefon Diggs with Hill doesn’t seem like a huge upgrade at the position, but to be fair, after failing to properly replace Diggs this offseason, that’s probably their best option.
Romeo Doubs has been a reliable WR2 in the NFL, but he was never a true top target during his time with the Green Bay Packers. The rest of the Patriots’ wide receiver room is the same; they made no draft picks at receiver and didn’t sign any veterans. If they want to make it back to the Super Bowl, they’ll need better weapons for Drake Maye to throw to than what they have right now. Hill could help fix that.
Baltimore Ravens
When a star wide receiver is at the end of their career, the only two teams they’re allowed to sign with are the Baltimore Ravens or the Tennessee Titans. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. In all seriousness, since 2020, the Ravens have brought in the likes of Dez Bryant, DeSean Jackson, Odell Beckham Jr., and DeAndre Hopkins — all past their prime.
Hill arguably has the most in the tank of that bunch. In the short term, the Ravens could use one more wide receiver in the mix. They doubled down in Rounds 3 and 4 with Ja’Kobi Lane and Elijah Sarratt, but their current starting tandem of Rashod Bateman and Devontez Walker could be improved upon. The hope is likely that Lane and Sarratt fill those roles to pair with Zay Flowers, but in the meantime, Hill could be a strong one-year rental option.
Washington Commanders
Dyami Brown returned to the Washington Commanders after a year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but given his down 2025 campaign, the Commanders essentially just replaced Deebo Samuel Sr. with third-round pick Antonio Williams at receiver. That should prove to be a smart move in the long run, but in the short term, they still could use some help.
Terry McLaurin hasn’t had a reliable WR2 to run alongside him for most of his time in Washington. Unless Jaylin Lane or Luke McCaffrey take a big leap in 2026, the Commanders will still have a hole in their starting lineup at wide receiver.
Hill might not be a major upgrade over Samuel at this stage in his career, but he’d be a swing worth taking, especially since the Commanders have roughly $49.5 million left in cap space.
Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams have a lot of decisions to make in the 2027 offseason. Star players like Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Byron Young, Kobie Turner, and Kevin Dotson are all slated to hit free agency, and they won’t be able to afford to keep all of them.
That said, they still rank in the top 10 in cap space for 2026, so they have the flexibility to go all-in before their window starts to close.
Matthew Stafford won’t be around forever, nor will a handful of the impact players the Rams have on expiring deals. If they want to really push towards another Super Bowl win, a one-year rental like Hill would make a lot of sense. Even at his age, pairing him with Nacua and Adams would form arguably the most dangerous wide receiver trio in the NFL.
