Carlos Alcaraz Reacts to Nelly Korda’s Chevron Championship Triumph Amid Injury Hiatus

Carlos Alcaraz took time during his ongoing injury hiatus to celebrate Nelly Korda's Chevron Championship victory online.

Carlos Alcaraz is currently away from the tennis courts, recovering from a wrist injury that has kept him out of several tournaments. Amid his injury hiatus, the Spaniard reacted to Sebastian Korda’s sister, American professional golfer Nelly, winning the 2026 Chevron Championship.

Korda comes from a remarkable sporting family. He is the son of former Czech tennis players Petr Korda and Regina Rajchrtová. He has two sisters, Jessica and Nelly Korda, both of whom compete professionally on the LPGA Tour.

Carlos Alcaraz Reacts to Nelly Korda Winning Her Third Major at Chevron Championship 2026

On Sunday, April 26, 2026, Nelly won her third career major title, securing a commanding five-shot victory at the Chevron Championship. This win also propelled her back to World No. 1 in the women’s golf rankings. It marks her second Chevron title in three years and her 17th overall title on the LPGA Tour.

Following her victory, Nelly took to social media and shared a series of photographs of her posing with the trophy, with family and friends, and celebrating by jumping into Poppie’s Pond.

“Sweet like candy 🍭! Major #3️⃣ 🥰 LFG!” Nelly captioned her Instagram post.

Reacting to Nelly winning her third major at the 2026 Chevron Championship, Alcaraz expressed his admiration by commenting with three clapping emojis.

“👏 👏 👏,” Alcaraz commented.

On the tennis side of things, Alcaraz began his run on the clay court swing of the tour at the 2026 Monte-Carlo Masters. He was the top seed at the tournament and began his campaign in the second round following a first-round bye. He defeated Sebastián Báez with a scoreline of 6-1, 6-3 in his opening match and then eliminated Tomás Martín Etcheverry with a score of 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 in the third round.

In the quarterfinals, the seven-time singles Grand Slam champion defeated Alexander Bublik with a 6-3, 6-0 score and advanced to the final by winning against Valentin Vacherot 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals. In the championship match, he faced Jannik Sinner and finished as the runner-up, losing 6-7(5), 3-6.

Alcaraz then participated in the 2026 Barcelona Open, where he won his first match against Otto Virtanen, 6-4, 6-2. However, he had to withdraw from his second-round match against Tomáš Macháč due to a right wrist injury. This injury has also forced him to withdraw from the ongoing Madrid Open and other upcoming tournaments such as the Italian Open and the French Open, where he was the defending champion.
