Jessica Pegula did not hesitate to take on a wild dare involving her husband, Taylor Gahagen, after being egged on by fellow American tennis stars Madison Keys, Desirae Krawczyk, and Jennifer Brady. The incident unfolded in amusing fashion on “The Player’s Box” podcast, with Pegula joking about how her husband will react to the deed.
Jessica Pegula Sends ‘Flirty’ Voice Note to Husband Taylor Gahagen
After dodging a question about a topic she had never addressed publicly, Jessica Pegula chose to accept a playful dare from her podcast co-hosts. Desirae Krawczyk promptly challenged her to send a “flirty voice note” to her husband Taylor Gahagen. The world No. 5 was visibly relieved that her husband would be the recipient of the message rather than anyone else.
“I choose you to send a flirty voice note to Taylor. Your husband Taylor,” Krawczyk said.
“Thank God,” Pegula responded.
Meanwhile, Madison Keys couldn’t resist predicting Gahagen’s response, saying, “He’s going to be like, ‘What the hell is wrong with you?'”
Leaning into the bit, Pegula sent the voice note to her husband, telling him how much she was looking forward to seeing him after his gym session, while laughing at how baffled Gahagen would be to receive the unexpected message.
“Hi, honey. I love you so much. I can’t wait to see you when you get home from the gym. Okay, bye. I love you,” she said. “Okay, I’m sending it. He’s literally going to be like, “What the f**k was that?” I tried to make it sound flirty like, ‘Hi, you got home from the gym. I love you.’ Yeah, I should have put that in. All sweaty.”

The lighthearted dare offered a rare glimpse into Pegula’s life with her husband, since the couple prefers to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. Nevertheless, they recently made a public appearance at the Charleston Open players’ party, joining Paula Badosa, Iva Jovic, Eva Lys, Belinda Bencic, and several other WTA stars at the event.
Gahagen was also there to support the world No. 5 during her title run, cheering her on as she claimed a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win over Yuliia Starodubtseva in the final and successfully defended her Charleston crown. Although he was forced to miss Jessica Pegula’s victory speech while tending to their pet dog, he later joined the 32-year-old on court to celebrate her win and pose with the trophy.
