Marcelo Melo Among Others Spotted in Alexander Zverev’s Player Box in Monte-Carlo Masters

Zverev’s family has been the cornerstone of his tennis career. His father, Alexander Zverev Sr., has been his head coach since the start of his career. He has been a constant presence in Zverev’s player box, and Monte-Carlo is no different.

The German’s brother, Mischa Zverev, a former top 50 ATP player, was also seen in the player box, cheering for the third-seed player, aiming for his first title of the year. Mischa has served as a crucial training partner, mentor, and competitive role model, helping improve his brother’s game.

Apart from them, Zverev’s physio has also been a constant presence in the player’s box. His doubles partner, Marcelo Melo, was also seen at the box, supporting his partner from the sidelines of the court.

Zverev and Melo won their first-round clash in straight sets, but went down in the second round to Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers 7-6(5), 6-1.

The 28-year-old has had a strong run in 2026, posting an 18-5 record with a 78.3% win rate. He reached four semifinals and four quarterfinals, including deep runs at major events. He reached the semifinals of the Australian Open before losing to Carlos Alcaraz in five sets. Zverev also reached the top four of the Indian Wells and the Miami Open but lost to Sinner on both occasions.

Zverev has carried the momentum at the Monte-Carlo Masters. He has beaten Cristian Garín, Zizou Bergs, and Joao Fonseca on his way to the top four, where he will face Sinner.

The two have met 12 times, with the Italian taking honors 8 times, while Zverev has come out on top 4 times. The last time these two met was in the Miami Open semifinals, where Sinner prevailed 6-3, 7-6(4).

However, they have a 1-1 win-loss record on clay surfaces, making the upcoming encounter a thrilling prospect. The winner of this clash will face either Carlos Alcaraz or Valentin Vacherot for the Monte-Carlo Masters title.
