De Minaur vs Vacherot: Head-to-Head History
This will be the first meeting between these two players on the ATP Tour. Vacherot has made quite the splash over the last seven months, winning the Shanghai Masters, reaching the quarterfinals in Paris, and now Monte-Carlo.
The Monégasque appears very much at home on the biggest stages in tennis and holds an impressive 3-4 record against players ranked in the top 10.
Vacherot defeated Juan Manuel Cerúndolo in three sets in his Monte-Carlo opener, before upsetting fourth seed and 2025 finalist Lorenzo Musetti in the second round. The 27-year-old then claimed another hard-fought win over the big-serving Hubert Hurkacz on Thursday, winning 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4.
By no means a clay-court specialist, de Minaur continues to improve his standing on the surface. He has qualified for his third straight quarterfinal in Monte-Carlo and will be eager to advance beyond his semifinals run last year.
The Australian started his campaign by defeating Cameron Norrie in three sets, before claiming another hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (4) win over Alexander Blockx.
De Minaur vs Vacherot: Match Prediction
Vacherot has enjoyed a dream run so far at his hometown tournament, and his recent record at the Masters 1000 tournaments will certainly be the envy of many in the locker room. But de Minaur continues to improve on clay and will present Vacherot with another difficult challenge in the quarterfinals on Friday.
After struggling on the surface for the early part of his career, de Minaur has found a way to play with more patience and extend rallies. He also has more experience in big matches, which could prove to be handy against a player who played his 50th match on the tour this week.
It will be interesting to see whether Vacherot has enough left in the tank to give de Minaur a fight after what has already been a very taxing week.
We are backing de Minaur to come out on top in what should be another close encounter. You can simulate all matches at the Monte-Carlo Masters with the help of the PFSN Tennis Predictor.
Pick: de Minaur in two sets.
