A summer of big change awaits the Florida Gators after a disappointing second-round exit in the NCAA Tournament. A number of key decisions still need to be made, and how the dominoes fall could determine the program’s outlook next season.
Here’s the latest on which players could be leaving and joining the Florida Gators in the coming days. The transfer portal opened on Tuesday, giving teams the opportunity to make roster changes over the next 15 days.
Florida Gators 2026 Transfer Portal Tracker
Entering Transfer Portal
- Olivier Rioux
- Micah Handlogten
Rioux, the tallest player in NCAA basketball history, will enter the transfer portal after playing just 11 games and averaging 1.5 minutes per game.
Handlogten is heading for the transfer portal after three years with the Gators. The senior will seek a medical hardship waiver to obtain an additional year of eligibility. He suffered a compound fracture in his leg in 2024 but returned for the team’s NCAA Tournament championship run.
After coming off the bench in 32 of his 34 games this season, Handlogten will look for pastures new this offseason.
Confirmed Departures
- Xaivian Lee (Exhausted Eligibility)
With his senior year in the books, Lee will leave the Gators in the offseason. He averaged 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 27.4 minutes per game this season after joining from Princeton last summer.
NBA Draft Decisions Pending
- Alex Condon
- Rueben Chinyelu
- Thomas Haugh
Haugh enjoyed a breakout junior year with the Florida Gators, scoring 17.1 points on 46% shooting from the floor. The likelihood of him being an NBA draft lottery pick is high, so Florida will likely be without him next season.
The big question remains whether Chinyelu and Condon will return to form Florida’s frontcourt next season. Their futures remain up in the air as of this writing. Both players were impactful for the Gators last season, with Candon averaging 15.1 points and Chinyelu averaging 10.9 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.
Chinyelu was also named the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year after anchoring the Florida defense throughout the year.
Returning to Florida
Starting point guard Boogie Fland will be returning to Florida for his junior year after averaging 11.6 points per game on 44.7% field-goal shooting last season.
Brothers Isaiah Brown and AJ Brown will also be returning to the Gators next year. The former came off the bench this season, while the latter redshirted after spending three years at Ohio.
