Jannik Sinner’s recent dominance has inspired such strong confidence that it prompted former rapper Iggy Azalea to place a bold bet on him before the 2026 Miami Open Final. Sinner faced Jiří Lehečka in the summit clash and claimed a commanding 6-4, 6-4 victory to clinch the ATP Masters 1000 title, ensuring that Azalea avoided a substantial loss on her high-stakes wager.
Jannik Sinner Inspires Iggy Azalea To Place $40,000 Bet
Iggy Azalea staked a whopping $40,000 on Jannik Sinner to triumph in Miami, later publicly sharing her wager on X. Although the former rapper admitted that it was an “unhinged” gamble, she made it clear that she had complete faith in Sinner’s victory. The move paid off as Azalea earned a $1,600 return, which she described as “free money.”
“I know it’s unhinged I bet 40k just to make $1600 but I was 100% sure sinner would win. I figured: free money, why not?” Azalea posted.

Azalea’s move was not completely unexpected. Fresh off his victory at the Indian Wells Masters, Sinner was considered the overwhelming favorite to complete the double in Miami. The narrative only strengthened as he progressed to the final without dropping a set. Before the title clash, the Italian was viewed as the 94% favorite, carrying odds of -1600 compared to Lehečka’s +950.
Analyzing these figures for the Tennis Channel, Andrea Petkovic had asserted that the odds were “harsh” on Lehečka but conceded that they were justified given the four-time Grand Slam champion had been producing.
“I think Lehečka has only got one choice, and that is to try and find a way to the net. He’s not going to win this match from the baseline, but if he plays like he did yesterday, very aggressively, very front facing, I think this is maybe a little harsh. However, having watched Jannik Sinner in the last two weeks, the odds seem fair,” Petkovic said.
With his triumph at the Miami Open, Jannik Sinner completed the Sunshine Double for the first time in his career and became the first ATP player to achieve this feat since Roger Federer in 2017. He also closed the gap to Carlos Alcaraz in the ATP rankings, narrowing the Spaniard’s lead to 1,190 points.

Sinner and Alcaraz will both commence their clay-court seasons at the Monte-Carlo Masters, which begins April 5. While Alcaraz will enter the Masters 1000 event as the defending champion, the Italian will have a major opportunity to boost his ranking points further after missing the tournament last year.
