The Golden State Warriors are hanging on to their play-in spot by a thread, and their biggest question all season has remained the same: When is Stephen Curry coming back?
Draymond Green Updates Stephen Curry’s Injury Status
The update came from Draymond Green on his show. The veteran forward pushed back hard on any talk of shutting Curry down for the season.
“Knowing that Steph might not have enough runway for the playing game, that he would be shut down for the season. And what I will tell you is, I don’t think Steph’s getting shut down for the season. I do know that Steph is doing all that he can to get back. I do know that he’s progressing well on the court. And I do know that he’s very, very, very eager to get back out there.”

Green kept it simple after that. Curry wants to play, whether there is one regular-season game left or five.
“And what I can assure you is, whether it’s one regular season game or five regular season games, Steph wants to play. And he’s going to do all that he can. He’s been doing all that he can. And things are really looking up.”
Draymond Green on Steph Curry returning this season:

Green went further, addressing the age factor directly. Curry is 38, and the window is real. “Because again, you just don’t know how many opportunities at 38 you have left. Want to make the best of every opportunity. So one thing I can assure y’all, there’s no shutdown coming for Steph at the moment. He wants to play.”
Green’s words carry weight because the situation has genuinely been uncertain for months. Curry has now missed 26 consecutive games due to patellofemoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in his right knee, last suiting up on January 30. The condition, also called runner’s knee, has been stubborn and hard to predict throughout the recovery.

The Warriors confirmed his next step is a live five-on-five scrimmage, and head coach Steve Kerr made clear the team would not bring him back only for the play-in game. He needs game reps first, and Golden State needs to give him a proper runway to make it work.
Curry has gone 23-16 in the 39 games he has played this season. Golden State is 13-23 without him. That gap is why every practice update matters right now. Green’s message was straightforward: Do not count Curry out.
With the play-in around the corner and the Warriors still in contention, the next few days of scrimmaging will provide the real answer.
