Braylon Mullins just etched his name into UConn Huskies basketball history.

Mullins, a freshman, launched a 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds on the clock, giving the No. 2-seeded UConn Huskies an improbable 73-72 victory over the No. 1-seeded Duke Blue Devils in an Elite Eight East Region game for the ages.

College Basketball World Reacts to Braylon Mullins’ Game-Winning 3-Pointer

It was a bitter loss for the Blue Devils, who were led by Cameron Boozer’s 27 points. Mullins finished with 10 points for the Huskies, giving UConn a moment that Huskies head coach Dan Hurley will never forget. Now, UConn heads to the Final Four.

How big was Mullins’ 3-pointer? ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Borzello put it pretty succinctly in a post on X: “ONE OF THE ALL-TIME GREATEST SHOTS IN NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY.”

Albert Breer, mostly known as a senior NFL reporter and lead content strategist at The MMQB, was watching the game televised by CBS on Sunday. His reaction to Mullins’ impractical shot? “OH MY GOD.”

Jordan Schultz, an NFL insider and host of “The Schultz Report,” kind of had a similar reaction: “Omg.”

Schultz also found time to share a clip of Mullins making a 3-point shot that will forever live in the annals of the NCAA Men’s Tournament. Schultz also posted on X, “Braylon Mullins just ended Duke’s season on what was the most insane shot I’ve seen in a long time.”

ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky also was watching the UConn-Duke matchup and, well, he posted on X, “MULLLLLIIIINNNSSSSS.”

NFL insider Mike Garafolo of NFL Network shared a clip of the game-winning shot that Mullins sank from beyond the 3-point arc.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport also shared a video clip from the game. The only word he could think of posting on X? “Madness.”

Jeff Goodman, basketball analyst and co-founder of the Field of 68, was amazed by the madness on the court at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Goodman posted on X, “UCONN GOES TO THE FINAL 4 ON ONE OF THE MOST INCREDIBLE ENDINGS I’VE EVER SEEN!”

While Duke will forever have its Christian Laettner moment, the Huskies are going to be celebrating Mullins and his majestic 3-pointer for a long time to come.
