Seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady competed in the 2026 Fanatics Flag Football Classic this weekend and did not disappoint.
Brady opened his games with a couple of beautiful throws for scores that reminded everyone of how great he was in his playing days. In fact, afterwards, the retired quarterback teased an NFL comeback on social media.
You can tell he misses the game.
How Tom Brady Teased an NFL Comeback
While Brady and his Founders FFC started out fast, things quickly went downhill for his team after that. The 15-time Pro Bowler evaded a rusher and threw a strike to the end zone on fourth-and-goal to get the scoring started against Team USA.
Brady followed that with another nice pass to his former Super Bowl-winning teammate, Rob Gronkowski, for the 2-point conversion to give Founders FFC an 8-0 lead over the USA squad early.
However, that was about it for the old greats. Gronkowski went down with a hamstring injury, and his team could not keep up. Team USA demolished Brady’s squad 43-16.
After the USA squad handled Joe Burrow’s Wildcats FFC similarly, Brady’s bunch could not hang with Burrow’s squad either. Wildcats FFC eliminated Founders FFC with a 34-26 win.
After the competitions, Brady took to social media to tease his comeback.
“Gets you thinking… @Fanatics @NFLonFOX,” Brady wrote on X to caption a repost of his touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs.
While many would probably think Brady could still compete in the NFL, there is no return coming. But it is fun to think about it.
The three-time first-team All-Pro played 23 years in the NFL and has been retired for going on four years. After taking some time for himself, he has found a spot in the FOX broadcast booth, and there is probably not another job that could take him away from that.
However, do not be surprised if he continues to enjoy some flag football on the side. The beauty of the sport is the less contact, safer options to football. It is growing immensely, and expect a football junkie to be at the forefront of that and doing everything he can to support it.

The 2026 Fanatics Flag Football Classic also demonstrated that the game takes a particular skill set. After a lot of talk went around about whether Team USA should be comprised of NFL stars or not, the USA squad shut a lot of that down.
Brady’s team had stars including Jalen Hurts, Ashton Jeanty, Alvin Kamara, DeVonta Smith, Antoine Winfield Jr., Von Miller, Damar Hamlin, and Patrick Peterson.
While Burrow’s squad consisted of stars, including Davante Adams, Saquon Barkley, Jayden Daniels, Derwin James Jr., Jalen Ramsey, Kyle Juszczyk, Odell Beckham Jr., DeAndre Hopkins, and Luke Kuechly.
Team USA, headlined by Darrell “Housh” Doucette III and Nico Casares, crushed those two squads in the round robin and then beat Burrow’s team 24-14 in the championship game.
