Stephen Curry Shakes His Head in Disappointment as Anthony Edwards Hits 9 Straight Points

Anthony Edwards scored 9 points straight much to Stephen Curry's disappointment as the Warriors rut continues.

Anthony Edwards’ hot streak in the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Golden State Warriors had veteran Stephen Curry shaking his head in disbelief. The Warriors star remains on the sidelines due to patellofemoral pain syndrome and bone bruising, and his team will have to navigate without him for at least 10 more days.

Anthony Edwards’ Nine Straight Points Drew a Reaction From Stephen Curry

As the fourth quarter got underway, the Timberwolves held a clear lead coming into the final minutes, and Edwards had a lot to do with it. He scored nine straight points in the fourth quarter, with his sequence including free throws after drawing contact, a deep three-pointer from the wing, and a high-difficulty jump shot to conclude the run.

Edwards, who was added to the Minnesota Timberwolves’ injury report due to right knee soreness and listed as questionable, was still a treat to watch, even for the opposing team’s veteran.

As the camera panned to Curry, he looked utterly unhappy with what he was watching as he shook his head while chewing gum. While the gesture might appear to signal frustration, it also reflected a grudging respect for a player who was simply unstoppable.

The bond between Edwards and Curry, built on mutual respect, dates back to their joint representation of the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Edwards entered as one of the rising faces of basketball, and Curry as the virtuoso. Curry has often praised Edwards’ game and said he has the potential to become the face of the sport.

And that’s what he saw from the sidelines… A baller balling against a helpless Warriors side. Curry’s team was chasing a much-anticipated victory after a three-game losing streak. Alas, the Timberwolves handed them a 127-117 loss, and in the absence of the legendary point guard, the Warriors are now 5-11.

Coming into the game, the Warriors had high hopes, as a win would have helped their playoff aspirations, which now look wobbly. However, the chances aren’t entirely bleak, considering the consistency of Kristaps Porzingis, who had 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting in 20 minutes.

Forward Malevy Leons was also effective for the Warriors at Chase Center. Still, with injuries mounting throughout their roster, the Warriors will face significant challenges in their upcoming game against the New York Knicks on Sunday. The Timberwolves, who are sixth in the Western Conference, will next face Oklahoma City.
