Sabalenka vs Mboko Head-to-Head
The two have met once on the tour, with the Belarusian winning 6-1, 7-6 (1) in the fourth-round clash at the Australian Open this year.
Sabalenka got a bye in the first round and began her campaign in Indian Wells with a dominant 6-4, 6-2 win over Japanese qualifier Himeno Sakatsume in the second round. The top seed maintained her form, as she secured another dominant 6-4, 6-1 victory over Jaqueline Cristian in the third round.
She faced her toughest test in the fourth round against former champion and 16th-seeded Naomi Osaka, but the world No. 1 did not break a sweat, winning comfortably 6-2, 6-4.
Mboko got a bye in the first round as well due to her seeding and began her campaign with a 6-4, 7-6 (5) win against Kimberly Birrell in the second round. In the third round, the Canadian faced off against the 23rd-seeded Anna Kalinskaya but had no problems, winning 6-4, 6-1.
Her most impressive performance came in the fourth round, when she had a similar 6-4, 6-1 scoreline against the sixth-seeded Amanda Anisimova.
Sabalenka vs Mboko Prediction
Both players have been dominant on serve at Indian Wells so far, winning 80% of their first-serve points. However, Sabalenka edges ahead in second-serve points, having won 55% of them compared to Mboko’s 51%. The Belarusian, who was once known for many double faults early in her career, has made only three in three matches, whereas the Canadian has made 13 in the same number of matches.
Despite being similarly strong on serve, Sabalenka has been broken only once in three matches, whereas Mboko has been broken four times. However, break-point conversion is one area where the Canadian is miles ahead of Sabalenka: she has converted 12 of 15 break-point opportunities in three matches, whereas Sabalenka has converted 10 of 23.
With both players serving strongly, the player who plays the break points well will have a huge advantage in the upcoming match. While Mboko has an 80% conversion rate, Sabalenka has saved seven of the eight break points she has faced on her serve. Given that the Belarusian is the world’s top-ranked player and recently beat Mboko in Melbourne, PFSN’s Tennis Simulator has assigned a 72% win probability to the top seed.

Pick: Sabalenka to win in straight sets
