Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans are not happy, to say the least, with general manager Jason Licht and the Glazer family after the team has failed to improve during the NFL free agency period.
Fans are especially incensed after losing veteran wide receiver Mike Evans to the San Francisco 49ers after 12 seasons with the Buccaneers. It isn’t just Bucs fans who are upset, as the NFL world is also reacting negatively to the Bucs’ offseason.
Buccaneers Get Raked Over Coals for Lack of Moves
Caleb Skinner, a reporter and writer for BucsGameday on SI, criticized the Bucs in a post on X and questioned whether the organization even cares.
“Think it’s fair to say that the Bucs have failed this free agency period unless they can land Crosby via trade after what has transpired early this morning with Hendrickson & Chaisson coming off the board,” Skinner posted. “Do the Glazers or Licht care anymore?”

Nick Geddes, who works on the National News Desk for On3 and 5GOATs, wrote in a post on X that the Buccaneers haven’t addressed their No. 1 need at all.
“The No. 1 priority for the Bucs this offseason should have been landing a proven EDGE and not relying only on the draft,” Geddes wrote. “Unless there’s a surprise [Maxx] Crosby or [Jonathan] Greenard trade coming, they have failed to do that.
“I was fine with Evans leaving IF it meant putting more resources into the defense,” Geddes continued. “The only addition so far has been 31yo Alex Anzalone. Pretty bad all-around.”

Pewter Report, a Buccaneers blog, also bashed Tampa Bay’s offseason.
“I try to be optimistic – as in, the offseason isn’t over. There is still time to add some key pieces. Bucs still have the draft, can explore post-draft FA. But at heart, I’m a realist. So far, this offseason is a disaster. I don’t see how the Buccaneers have gotten better – yet,” Pewter Report wrote before launching a livestream titled “What the Hell Are the Bucs Doing?!”

Alex Kennedy, PFSN’s NFL Deputy Editor, also pointed some fingers in Licht’s direction.
“Jason Licht and the Glazers have gotten a ton of hate for losing Mike Evans. Keeping Todd Bowles had already alienated most fans even before Evans’ exit,” Kennedy posted on X.
“Can Licht redeem himself by landing Maxx Crosby in a trade with his buddy John Spytek?” Kennedy added. “EDGE is easily the Bucs’ biggest need.”

Ashlie Abrahams, who writes for The Bucs Wire of USA Today Sports, is really surprised by the franchise’s lack of moves during the free-agency period.
“I cannot believe how quiet the Bucs have been needing so much help,” Abrahams posted on X.

Some Buccaneers analysts want Licht and Co. to pursue Crosby, who was initially traded to the Baltimore Ravens before they nixed the deal after Crosby failed his physical. Now, the Las Vegas Raiders have floated the possibility of keeping Crosby, but the Buccaneers should at least make the call, particularly given the relationship between Licht and Raiders GM John Spytek (who was previously Tampa Bay’s assistant general manager).
What might the Buccaneers do? All eyes will be on Licht to see if he can salvage this offseason. Adding linebacker Alex Anzalone, running back Kenneth Gainwell (on a questionable contract), quarterback Jake Browning, and re-signing tight end Cade Otton clearly isn’t enough.
