Alcaraz vs Dimitrov Head-to-Head
After six meetings, Alcaraz has a 4-2 lead in the head-to-head over Dimitrov. The last time these two players met was at Indian Wells itself last year, where the Spaniard absolutely routed the Bulgarian, winning 6-1, 6-1.
Alcaraz has had the perfect start to the season so far, winning all his 12 matches. The Spaniard completed his Career Slam by winning the Australian Open, where he had a marquee four-set win over Novak Djokovic in the final. He maintained the momentum at the Qatar Open, where he won another title, defeating Arthur Fils in the final.
Coming back from an injury, 2026 has not been a great year for Dimitrov so far. The Bulgarian had a second-round exit in Brisbane, followed by three successive first-round exits at the Australian Open, Dallas Open, and Mexican Open, losing to the likes of Tomáš Macháč, Alex Michelsen, and Terence Atmane, respectively.
However, the Bulgarian was able to reverse the result against Atmane in the first round at Indian Wells in a grueling contest.
Alcaraz vs Dimitrov Prediction
Alcaraz’s season stats are exemplary, which is not surprising for someone who is yet to lose a match in 12 attempts. The Spaniard has won 91 percent of the service games and 30 percent of the return games. He has remained calm under pressure, saving 72 percent of the 57 break points he has faced, while converting 41 percent of the 130 break point opportunities he has created.
Dimitrov has won 83 percent of the service games, but has been woeful on return, winning only 7 percent of the return games in the season so far. The Bulgarian has saved 67 percent of the 30 break points he has faced, while converting 22 percent of the 18 break point opportunities he has secured.
Dimitrov has played some good matches against Alcaraz, notably his victory over the Spaniard at the 2024 Miami Open. However, in current circumstances, the Bulgarian is nowhere near Alcaraz in terms of form. That has been reflected by the PFSN Simulator, which has assigned a whopping 93 percent win probability to the top seed.
