Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool Eye $46 Million Move for USMNT Midfield Star

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all keeping tabs on USMNT and Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams, as per a report.

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all currently in the race to finish in the top five of the Premier League table this campaign, aiming to secure UEFA Champions League qualification. And, the trio is also reportedly in a race to sign an American star.

USMNT Player Targeted by Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool

According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool have recently expressed interest in signing United States men’s national team (USMNT) midfielder Tyler Adams. The Premier League clubs would have to dish out $46.41 million to sign the Bournemouth star.

Adams, who is set to decide on a potential move after the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has been one of AFC Bournemouth’s vital starters this season. He has started 18 total appearances for his club this term, registering two goals and an assist.

Despite recently returning from a medial knee ligament injury, Adams has impressed in his past three Premier League appearances. The 27-year-old holding midfielder has helped the Cherries keep two clean sheets and remain unbeaten in his last three starts.

Should Adams decide to secure a transfer to Manchester United, he could prove to be a fine signing for them. He would pop up as a regular starter for the Red Devils as Casemiro is set to leave this summer, and Manuel Ugarte could be offloaded under a new boss.

On the other hand, Adams could struggle to find minutes at Chelsea. The USMNT ace would be used as a rotational option, with Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández considered crucial starters. He would compete with the likes of Roméo Lavia and Andrey Santos.

The New York Red Bulls academy product could prove to be a shrewd addition for Liverpool. He would satisfy the Reds’ need for a holding midfielder and fill the void left by the potential exits of Curtis Jones, Wataru Endo, and Stefan Bajcetic after this campaign.

On the other hand, Adams’ USMNT teammate Weston McKennie has signed a new contract at Serie A side Juventus. The American midfielder’s current deal will expire in June 2030.

A recent Juventus statement read, “A powerful tool that can be used on both the right and left flanks, available to coach (Luciano) Spalletti to attack any opponent. A young man who has won the hearts of the fans and is now reaping the rewards.”

Both McKennie and Adams are likely to start for the USMNT in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
