A fresh wave of trade buzz is building around Las Vegas Raiders pass-rush star Maxx Crosby, and it’s only gotten louder after recent social-media breadcrumbs from two-time Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles right tackle. With insiders signaling Las Vegas may be more willing to entertain offers, the league’s biggest contenders are starting to circle.
The catch is obvious: Crosby’s deal carries a massive cap hit that stays above $27 million annually through 2028, meaning any team that lands him will have to pay in both picks and payroll. Overall, free agency is the time when the fate of the next NFL season lies.
Would Maxx Crosby Be Worth It?
Overall, free agency is the time when the fate of the next NFL season lies. Wherever Crosby goes, there is going to be a big price tag. As Sportrac reports, Crosby’s cap hit is north of $27 million every year through 2028.
However, despite the steep price, insider Jordan Schultz posted on X, “Sources: Teams in the trade market have gotten the sense that the #Raiders are more open to the idea of trading Maxx Crosby, and it’s a situation that is only going to intensify.”
So with Johnson’s recruiting plus Roseman’s reputation, there is a high chance that he could go there, but should he? With Crosby’s high price, the Eagles would have to clear a lot of cap space, which they currently do not have. So, that would be an issue that Roseman would have to overcome.
Additionally, insider Trey Wingo pointed out, “Things are moving fast re Maxx Crosby. Last night Dallas thought they were close to a deal but since then other teams have raised the ante and potentially are offering the Raiders 2 1st round picks Expected Dallas to now shift their focus to Trey Hendrickson.”
1st round picks are like the cream of the crop offerings for a trade. The Eagles could use one of those picks on another corner or a safety, which could be a big position of need. However, Crosby is special, so the swing might be worth it.
While there is no official confirmation about the interest, one social media move by a highly decorated right tackle flared up the speculations.

Things got more intriguing when Eagles’ 6-time Pro Bowler Lane Johnson tweeted the eyes emojis, tagging Crosby. So that begs the question: Are the Eagles a likely landing spot for the defensive star?
How Much Impact Does Lane Johnson and the Eagles Carry?
There is no question that Johnson has established himself as not one of the best linemen in the league, but one of the best players in the league. Johnson is a two-time All-Pro and two-team All-Pro second pro player. Additionally, Johnson was a huge part of the Eagles’ two Super Bowl Championships.
Speaking of Super Bowls, the Eagles are just coming off a victory a year ago and have one of the best rosters in the NFL. If Crosby were to be traded to Philly, he would be playing against great defensive linemen such as Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis.
Carter has an impact score of 90.7, graded A-, and standing 3rd in the PFSN NFL DT Impact Metrics. So, if Crosby wants to add a Super Bowl to his already impressive resume, Philly could be the spot.
Additionally, the Eagles have general manager Howie Roseman, known for his strong offseason moves. Roseman was key when the Eagles traded for Tennessee Titans wideout A.J. Brown, and the team landed Saquon Barkley in free agency.
So, if any general manager were able to land Crosby, Roseman would be one of the top candidates to do so.

The Birds need an impact off the edge. Will be interesting to see which route they go.
