Wake Forest guard Juke Harris delivered a standout performance for the Demon Deacons in their 68-67 loss to the Boston College Eagles on Wednesday.
The 6’7″ sophomore scored a career-high 38 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the field, including 6-of-12 from beyond the arc, and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Harris’s big night shocked the basketball world, leaving fans and analysts alike awestruck by his show of force.

ACC Digital Network described Harris’ career game as “nuclear,” highlighting his first eight points in the first half and the back-to-back three-pointers he hit in the final minute.

PNW’s Rich Stayman believes NBA draft experts are sleeping on Harris, noting, “I’m having a hard time seeing why Juke Harris isn’t higher on mocks. The scoring arsenal translates well into at least a lower-usage bench role at the next level as a floor, but his upside is easily attainable as an NBA starter.”
Stayman expounded on his analysis of Harris and compared his breakout offensive performance this season to those of five-time NBA champion and Wake Forest great Tim Duncan and former Sixth Man of the Year Rodney Rogers.
“On top of being potentially the 1st 20 PPG scorer at Wake this century (last one was a top 10 player ever, and before him was Rodney Rogers, who was a 6MOY), Juke’s statistical profile is very strong. That 3P% will rise with age + NBA training & spacing,” he added.

Bleacher Report’s NBA Draft Insider Jonathan Wasserman also mentioned the guard’s other attributes that could help attract teams to select him based solely on his individual talent.
“Juke Harris with 38 tonight. Continues to build an interesting profile with threes and high foul rate at 6’7″ 200lbs. Physical slasher, plays through contact, rebounds,” Wasserman tweeted.
No Ceilings’ Tyler Rucker commented on Wasserman’s tweet, writing: “What Juke Harris is doing this year deserves way more buzz. Absolutely love it.”
Cameron Lemons Debro, who writes for 247 Sports’ Demon Deacon Digest, hailed Harris’ big night but criticized the coaching staff and the other players for further embarrassment after losing to the lowly Boston College.
“There’s no other way to put it: that’s an embarrassing loss for Wake Forest. You get 38 from Juke Harris and the rest of your team goes 10-for-43. Outside of Nate Calmese, your whiffs in the transfer portal shined bright for 40 minutes,” he said.
Harris is having a breakout season for Wake Forest, averaging 21.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 34.1 minutes per game. It is a big jump from last season’s 6.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, and 19.0 mpg.
But his effort is being undone by heartbreaking losses they could have won. The one-point loss to Boston College was Wake Forest’s fourth this season, with the first two coming against AP Top 25 teams Michigan and Texas Tech. They are now 14-14 (5-10 in ACC), a far cry from last season’s 21-11 mark.
