Some are saying this is the best performance of his career (I am that someone)”.

ESPN College Basketball Insider Jeff Borzello believed that Reed was all set to go for this Big East game even before tipoff. Borzello posted on X, “Tarris Reed was ready for this one tonight. Setting the tone for UConn at both ends of the floor.”

Brendan Marks, who writes about college basketball for The Athletic, believed that this version of Reed was what UConn head coach Dan Hurley was looking to see. Marks posted on X, “Now THIS is the Tarris Reed that Dan Hurley has been looking for.”

Kevin Sweeney, who writes about college basketball and the NBA Draft for Sports Illustrated, believes that UConn is pretty unbeatable when Reed plays like he did on Wednesday night.

Sweeney posted on X, “Not sure who’s beating UConn when Tarris Reed plays at the level he did today. 20, 11, and 6 blocks against a monster St. John’s frontcourt. Two-way game-changer when he’s at his best.”

Reed was indeed a player on a mission for UConn and head coach Dan Hurley. Courtesy of his impressive outing, the Huskies are now 26-3 overall, 16-2 in Big East play with a game against Seton Hall up next.
