With her win at the Dubai Tennis Championship, Pegula has ended her title drought; her last title came at the 2025 Bad Homburg Open, when she defeated Polish sensation Iga Świątek. Apart from this, the American star had delivered consistently elite performances since the US Open, reaching all the semifinals, with finally securing her title at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre.
She had reached the semifinal round at the US Open, China Open, WTA Finals, Brisbane International, Australian Open, and the final of the Wuhan Open, where she lost the title to fellow American Coco Gauff. In her Dubai campaign, she had advanced past players including Varvara Gracheva, Iva Jovic, Clara Tauson, and Amanda Anisimova in the semifinal round.
In the title match, she faced the World No. 9, surpassing her in straight sets with a concluding scoreline of 6-2, 6-4 in 1 hour and 12 minutes. Her moments from her Dubai battle were also highlighted by her younger sister, Kelly, who added, through her Instagram stories, “Cmonnnn” to her champion glimpse and “Gorggg?” to Pegula holding the trophy.

After the win, Pegula expressed her heartfelt joy, adding, “It was a great atmosphere, especially the last two nights, not only supporting me but supporting all the girls here that compete and fight so hard every single day all week. We really appreciate it. What’s most fun for us is being able to play in front of the fans, so thank you guys so much for coming out.”
Apart from Kelly, Pegula also has a brother, Matthew, and Michael and Laura, whom his father, billionaire Terry Pegula, welcomed from his previous marriage. However, the sisters share a close bond, as Kelly often praises her sister and supports her career.
In 2016, both sisters established ‘The Healthy Scratch’, a quick-service restaurant in Buffalo, New York, which offered juices, salads, smoothies, wraps, and much more. The brand later expanded with a food truck in 2017 and additional locations, and ended operations after six years in 2022.
