De Minaur vs Auger-Aliassime Head-to-Head
The head-to-head between De Minaur and Auger-Aliassime stands at 3-1 in the Canadian’s favor. Auger-Aliassime won in four tight sets the last time they met at the 2025 US Open.
De Minaur has looked solid, if not spectacular, so far at the Rotterdam Open. He was pushed to the limit by Botic van de Zandschulp in the quarterfinals, needing three sets to get the better of the home favorite (3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5). However, the top seed seemingly found his footing against Ugo Humbert in the semifinals, saving 10 break points en route to earning a 6-4, 6-3 win.
This is the Aussie’s third straight Rotterdam Open final, and he would hope to finally overcome the hurdle after losing to Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz in the last two years.
Auger-Aliassime appears to be in sublime form and has hardly broken a sweat in Rotterdam. The 25-year-old claimed a ruthless 6-1, 6-2 win over Alexander Bublik in the semifinals and has yet to drop a set at the ATP 500 tournament.
Auger-Aliassime is also on an eight-match winning streak since being forced to retire at the Australian Open. After triumphing in Montpellier, the World No. 6 will be determined to keep his run going in the Netherlands.
De Minaur vs Auger-Aliassime Prediction
Auger-Aliassime is regarded as one of the premier players on indoor hard courts, with eight of his nine ATP Tour titles coming on the surface. He is also in imperious form and won his career’s first title in Rotterdam in 2022, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
In addition, the Canadian has already beaten two seeded players during his run this year, dismissing Bublik in less than an hour. He will no doubt go into the final as the favorite, with an impressive overall indoor record of 92-38.
De Minaur has not faced a seeded player in Rotterdam and has not won an indoor title. The Aussie, who has complained about the balls at the tournament, has looked solid on serve so far but will need to be at his very best when it comes to his returns against a player with a serve as good as Auger-Aliassime’s.
We could be in for a tightly contested Rotterdam Open final, but Auger-Aliassime’s superiority on indoor hard courts should give him the edge.
Pick – Auger-Aliassime to win in three sets.
