Jeremiyah Love Admits His Parents Only Have One NFL Team in Mind for Draft Night

Former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love revealed which NFL team his parents preferred him to get drafted by.

Former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love was one of the best players in college football, despite not leading the Fighting Irish to the College Football Playoff last season. Love finished No. 3 in the Heisman Trophy voting, behind Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia and quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
Due to his explosiveness and end product, Love is widely expected to be a top 10 pick during the 2026 NFL Draft.

Jeremiyah Love Reveals Parents’ Dream NFL Team

During a “Yahoo Sports” podcast on Saturday, Love spoke about the aspects of a team that were important to him, while revealing the team that his parents would prefer him to join in the NFL.

“I just wanna go anywhere that has a family unit to it,” Love said. “A place that believes in creating a great brotherhood and creating a great culture around the team. Most of the NFL teams are looking to build a great culture and a great brotherhood and I would be blessed to go to any team.

“My parents would probably say that they want me to go to the Steelers because that was their favorite team, still is their favorite team. Personally, I’d be honored and blessed to go anywhere.”

Love registered two consecutive 1,000+ rushing yard seasons for the Fighting Irish and finished his college football career with 2,882 yards on 433 carries, resulting in 42 touchdowns in 41 games played.

Analyst Predicts Love To Be a Top 10 Pick

Only six running backs have been selected in the top 10 of the NFL Draft since 2015 and NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks tabbed Love to join that exclusive list and pinpointed several teams that could use his services.

“The most explosive running back in the draft is a top-five talent who likely comes off the board within one of the first 10 selections,” Brooks wrote. “The Notre Dame standout has shown the competitive stamina to handle a heavy workload as a runner and receiver out of the backfield, making him the perfect complement to an elite QB or an emerging starter.

“As a classic RB1 with speed, explosiveness and the playmaking ability to score from anywhere on the field, Love should pique the interest of the Washington Commanders (who hold the seventh overall pick), New Orleans Saints (eighth overall), Kansas City Chiefs (ninth overall) and Cincinnati Bengals (10th).”

Love earned a PFSN College Running Back Impact score of 92.4 after registering 1,372 rushing yards on 199 carries, resulting in 18 touchdowns, while adding 280 receiving yards, resulting in three touchdowns for Notre Dame last season.
