Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina will earn a combined prize money of A$6,300,000 after an impressive women's final at the Australian Open.

The women’s singles event at the Australian Open came to an end, with Elena Rybakina beating Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the final. The 26-year-old became the first player from Kazakhstan to triumph at the Melbourne Major, three years after losing to the current Sabalenka in the title clash despite winning the first set.

How Much Prize Money Did Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, and Others Earn from Australian Open?

Rybakina won her second Grand Slam title, four years after her Wimbledon triumph and this will fetch her a prize money of A$4,150,000. Sabalenka’s second successive runner-up finish at the Australian will bag her a sum of A$2,150,000.

Elina Svitolina and Jessica Pegula were eliminated in the semifinals and they will both earn A$1,250,000 for their efforts. Iga Świątek, Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova, and Iva Jovic all lost in the quarterfinals and they will each bag A$750,000.

Last year’s champion Madison Keys, Mirra Andreeva, and Victoria Mboko were among the eight players who were knocked out in the fourth round of the Australian Open, and each of them will be paid A$480,000.

The 16 players who lost in the third round, including Jasmine Paolini and Diana Shnaider, will each earn A$327,750 while Paula Badosa, Emma Raducanu, and the other 30 women who were out in the second round will each pocket A$225,000. Emma Navarro was among the 64 players who lost in the first round of the Australian Open and they will each earn A$150,000.

Players who did not qualify for the main draw will also receive prize money, with those who were out in the final round, receiving A$83,500. Those who lost in the second qualifying round, will each fetch A$57,000 while the players who were out in the opening round, will pocket A$40,500.

Elise Mertens and Shuai Zhang Won Australian Open Women’s Doubles

Fourth seeds Elise Mertens and Shuai Zhang won the women’s doubles event at the Australian Open after beating seventh seeds Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunić 7-6(4), 6-4 in the final. The Belgian-Chinese pair will earn A$900,000 for their victorious run while the Kazakh-Serbian duo will pocket A$485,000 for their runner-up finish.

 Fifth seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani, and Vera Zvonareva and Ena Shibahara were eliminated in the semifinals, and both teams will each earn A$275,000. Last year’s champions and top seeds Taylor Townsend and Kateřina Siniaková were among the four times that bowed out in the women’s doubles quarterfinals, and they will each receive A$158,000.

The pairs who were out in the third round will each earn A$92,000 while those who lost in the second round will each get paid A$64,000. The teams who lost in the opening round will pocket A$44,000 each.
