Taylor Fritz’s Girlfriend Morgan Gets Honest About ‘Misogyny,’ Independence and the Reality of Being a Tennis WAG

Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, recently opened up about her life as a Tennis WAG, candidly discussing the challenges that come with the role.

Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, recently spoke candidly about the realities of life as a tennis WAG. WAG, an acronym for Wives and Girlfriends of professional players, the term has long been shaped by media-driven stereotypes, often reducing partners to a glamorous presence in the stands.

Over time, however, that perception has steadily shifted. Women like Riddle have actively reclaimed the label, using their visibility to push back against outdated stereotypes while building independent careers in tennis fashion, culture, and lifestyle.

Taylor Fritz’s Girlfriend, Morgan Riddle Shared Her Perspective on Her Life as a Tennis ‘WAG’

Riddle is a prominent social media influencer and fashion enthusiast who has become a consistent presence in Fritz’s professional journey. The couple, together since 2020, have regularly offered fans glimpses into their life online.

Their relationship has become closely followed on social media, with Riddle frequently sharing highlights from her travels across the globe while accompanying the American on tour.

That visibility, however, has also placed Riddle at the center of broader conversations around the ‘WAG’ label and the scrutiny that often accompanies partners of professional athletes. Speaking to Elle recently, Riddle offered a candid account of the realities and challenges that come with the role.

“I think because I started social media very publicly declaring myself as a WAG, I never wanted to attach any negative connotations to that word, and I kind of played around with the disdain that people had for it. There’s still a lot of misogyny around that acronym that a lot of other women and I, who are partners of athletes, have been trying to change,” she said.

Riddle added that life on tour demands independence and self-sufficiency. She explained that frequent travel requires being comfortable alone, exploring new places independently, and making the most of time off, rather than feeling isolated while following a partner’s demanding schedule.

“I think you really have to be a certain type of person to be able to do it. I’ve always been extremely independent. I can spend a lot of time by myself, I can take the city bus by myself and go out exploring and go eat dinners by myself,” she says. “If you are travelling as much as I do with your partner around the world, you have to be able to do those things. Otherwise, you’re spending a lot of time by yourself in a hotel room,” she said.

Professional players endure the relentless demands of the tour, balancing intense training schedules with media and endorsement commitments, often leaving them drained. Riddle appears to recognize this reality in Fritz’s career as she added:

“They’re very busy with training and stuff, and then at the end of the day they’re exhausted. So you really have to figure out how to entertain yourself and spend a lot of time alone, and also figure out how to maintain a sense of routine and friendships back home too.”

On the tennis side of things, Fritz is in action at the 2026 Australian Open, with Riddle accompanying him in Melbourne. The American booked his place in the fourth round after victories over Valentin Royer, Vit Kopriva, and three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, and will next face fifth seed Lorenzo Musetti.
