Aryna Sabalenka Gets Honest on Her Latest Gucci Feat During Australian Open 2026

Gucci unveiled Sabalenka as its newest global ambassador on Thursday, January 22, signaling a significant milestone in her off-court journey. The announcement was rolled out across the brand’s social media platforms, accompanied by a sleek rooftop tennis video of Sabalenka wearing Gucci. The caption read, “Welcome to the Gucci family, Aryna.”

Gucci’s footprint in tennis continues to expand, with men’s World No. 2 Jannik Sinner also serving as its global brand ambassador since 2022. Sabalenka’s inclusion further elevates the brand’s ties with the sport, marking another defining moment for both.

Meanwhile, Sabalenka expressed immense joy over joining Gucci, calling the partnership a perfect match. She praised the brand’s bold elegance and admitted she never imagined, even months ago, that she would collaborate with one of the world’s leading luxury labels.

“That means the world. They’re bold. They’re elegant. They’re super cool. I feel like it’s a perfect fit, the collaboration. I don’t know. I’m the happiest person on earth right now. I couldn’t dream a few months ago that I’ll join the best brand. Right now I’m just super happy,” she said after her third-round match at the Australian Open.

Unlike her opening two matches, Sabalenka’s third-round meeting with Potapova demanded greater resistance. The two-time Australian Open champion had earlier sealed routine straight-sets wins over Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah and Zhuoxuan Bai.

Sabalenka has yet to drop a set, but her clash with the Russian-Austrian proved challenging. She took the first set 7-6(4) and faced a 6-5 deficit in the second, after being broken three times. Showing resilience, she claimed the second set 7-6(9-7) to reach the fourth round.

Sabalenka’s journey in Melbourne faces a stiff challenge in the fourth round against rising star Victoria Mboko. Despite holding an 83% chance of victory according to PFSN’s simulator, the Belarusian will need to be at her best to overcome the reigning Canadian Open champion.
