Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter

A lot of eyes will be on home hero Alex de Minaur as he looks to become the first Australian since Mark Edmondson in 1976 to win the men’s singles title. The world No. 6 is engaged to British tennis star Katie Boulter. They have been together for nearly six years and could tie the knot later this year.

The two tennis stars have 13 tour-level titles between them (de Minaur has 10 and Boulter has 3), and also competed in mixed doubles at Wimbledon 2023, where they were eliminated in the second round.

At the Australian Open, de Minaur will begin his campaign against Matteo Berrettini. The Italian has the head-to-head advantage of 3-2 in his favor, although de Minaur came out on top the last time they met (in Vienna, 2025).

Boulter will face Belinda Bencic in the first round. The Swiss star leads their head-to-head 1-0.

Gaël Monfils and Elina Svitolina

Elina Svitolina and Gaël Monfils have been together since 2019 and got married in Switzerland in July 2021. They also have a daughter together, named Skaï. The two have often credited each other for providing support on and off the court.

Both players have enjoyed success in tennis, with Monfils winning 13 singles titles and Svitolina recording 19 career titles (including the 2018 WTA Finals). Svitolina’s most recent title came at the ASB Classic earlier this month, where she was cheered on by her husband.

Monfils is set to retire from tennis at the end of the 2026 season. The 39-year-old will face Dane Sweeny in the first round at Melbourne Park. Their head-to-head record stands at 0-0.

Svitolina will face Cristina Bucșa in the first round of the Australian Open. This will also mark their first meeting on the tour.

Jason Kubler and Maddison Inglis

Australian tennis couple Jason Kubler and Maddison Inglis secured qualification for the Australian Open within minutes of each other. The newly engaged couple had to go through qualifying to reach the main draw of the tournament. They were seen embracing each other and getting visibly emotional after qualifying.

Kubler is a Grand Slam doubles champion, having won the 2023 Australian Open title with compatriot Rinky Hijikata. Inglis, meanwhile, has nine ITF titles to her name.

Kubler came from a set down to defeat talented youngster Alexander Blockx 3-6, 6-3, 1-0. His reward is a first-round clash against Frances Tiafoe, with their head-to-head currently 3-0 in the American’s favor.

Inglis earned three hard-fought wins in qualifying to book a first-round meeting against Kimberly Birrell. They have met seven times on tour previously, with Birrell holding a 5-2 lead.

Anastasia Potapova and Tallon Griekspoor

Anastasia Potapova and Tallon Griekspoor made headlines in February 2025 after the former was spotted supporting the Dutchman in Dubai. The pair have also been spotted on vacations together since. Both players have won three career singles titles.
