Following the draw announcement, former World No. 1 Andy Roddick provided a detailed analysis of the women’s draw, delivering a particularly striking prediction regarding this opening-round matchup on his Served podcast.
While talking about Navarro’s campaign, Roddick gave a very confident assessment, stating:
“I have Magda Linette beating Emma Navarro first round. I have Linette going to the third round.”
This was not a mistake by the 2003 US Open Champion, as he even had an explanation for his reasoning. “I don’t see her playing well enough to get through to the fourth round, quarters,” he explained, focusing on Navarro’s present condition as a weakness in front of the World No. 53.
