Josh Allen Reacts to Resurfaced Photo of His Wife Hailee Steinfeld Wearing Broncos Gear Ahead of Bills’ Playoff Game

Amid Josh Allen's playoff preparation, an old image of his wife, actress Hailee Steinfeld, briefly became the center of conversation.

The road to the Super Bowl rarely comes without distractions, and for Josh Allen, this week’s detour just happens to involve an old photograph, a decade-old jacket, and the internet’s fondness for stirring up nostalgia at the worst possible time.

As the Buffalo Bills prepare to travel to Denver for a Divisional Round clash with the Denver Broncos, Allen is chasing history, hoping to cap off a two-year stretch with the one thing that still eludes him: a Lombardi Trophy.

Josh Allen on Hailee Steinfeld’s Past Fandom of the Denver Broncos

But, amid the game preparation, an old image of his wife, actress Hailee Steinfeld, briefly became the center of conversation.

The photo itself is harmless, frozen in time. It dates back to Feb. 7, 2016, Super Bowl Sunday, and shows a 19-year-old Steinfeld celebrating the Denver Broncos’ win over the Carolina Panthers. She’s wearing an orange Broncos jacket, smiling wide, mid-dab. Her caption was enthusiastic, loud, and very online: “HELL YEAH BRONCOS!!!!”

Nearly 10 years later, that enthusiasm resurfaced as her husband is preparing to face Denver in the playoffs.

Allen’s response? A laugh, a shrug, and the king of calm confidence that comes from knowing exactly where loyalties lie now.

CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson shared that when she asked Allen about the photo, he had no idea it was making rounds again.

“Asked Josh about this pic and he told me he had no idea it was floating around. Laughed and said she was probably paid to be there. And that he definitely wasn’t going to bring it up at home. 😂,” Wolfson wrote on X.

The reality behind the photo is far less dramatic than social media might hope. In 2016, Steinfeld wasn’t pledging lifelong allegiance to the Broncos. She was touring, opening for Meghan Trainor’s “The Untouchable Tour,” and had just performed at then CenturyLink Field in Seattle. The Broncos gear, according to reports, was a gift.

At the time, Allen was still grinding it out in college football at Wyoming, long before MVP chants followed his game. He and Steinfeld wouldn’t cross paths until years later, eventually beginning their relationship in 2023. They married last May, and since then, Steinfeld has become a familiar face at Highmark Stadium.

As for Allen, the Bills, seeded sixth, will go against the top-seeded Broncos in a rematch of last year’s 31-7 playoff win for Buffalo.
