Iva Jovic vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto Final Preview: Head-to-Head, Prediction, for Hobart International 2026

18-year-old Iva Jovic has had an impressive run so far in Hobart and is just one match away from winning her second WTA singles title. Standing between the American and the Hobart International trophy is Italy’s Elisabetta Cocciaretto, who will also look to win her second WTA singles title.

Jovic started her 2026 season by reaching the semifinals of the ASB Classic and entered Hobart as the third seed. The teenager cruised to the quarterfinals with comprehensive wins over Janice Tjen (6-0, 6-1) and Renata Zarazúa (6-1, 6-2). Here, she edged out eight seed Magda Linette (6-3, 6-7(5), 6-2) before coming back from a set down to beat Taylah Preston4-6, 6-4, 6-1 and reach her second WTA singles final.

Like Jovic, Cocciaretto also started her season at the ASB Classic but exited the tournament in the second round. The Italian had to qualify for the main draw in Hobart, beating Jizelle Sibai and Darja Semeņistaja. She then ousted Ayano Shimizu, fourth seed Ann Li, Anna Bondár, and Antonia Ružić to reach her second final in Hobart.

Jovic vs. Cocciaretto Prediction

Jovic will enter the match as the favorite to win given her ranking and better run of form. However, Cocciaretto will be high on confidence after six wins on the trot and will look to continue that rhythm.

Jovic has won 126 out of 188 points (67.02%) on her first serve so far in Hobart, serving six aces. However, she has also served ten double faults and cannot afford too many of those. The teenager will look to be aggressive from the very first point but she will have to be careful not to make too many mistakes.

Cocciaretto has won 133 out of 188 points (70.8%) on her first serve so far in Hobart, amassing ten aces and as many double faults. The Italian has a decent defensive game but is also capable of switching to attack, a trait that could come in handy while dealing with Jovic’s attack.

While Cocciaretto is capable of putting up a tough fight, Jovic’s current run of form should see her get the win and clinch her first trophy of the 2026 season.
