Mirra Andreeva vs Diana Shnaider Preview: Head-to-Head, Prediction for Adelaide International 2026

Doubles partners Mirra Andreevva and Diana Shnaider will be on opposite ends of the court as they fight for a place in the final in Adelaide.

Third seed Mirra Andreeva and ninth seed Diana Shnaider will play an all-Russian semifinal in Adelaide. The two are doubles partners and teamed up at last year’s WTA Finals. However, this time, they will be on opposite ends of the court and whoever wins, will face either eighth seed Victoria Mboko or Kimberly Birrell in the final of the WTA 500 event.

Andreeva received a bye to the tournament’s second round, where she trounced Marie Bouzková 6-3, 6-1 before thrashing Maya Joint 6-2, 6-0 to book her place in the semifinnals.

Shnaider, on the other hand, became a seeded player following Jessica Pegula’s withdrawal andstarted with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Leylah Fernandez. She then edged out KateÅ™ina Siniaková 6-1, 2-6, 7-5 to set up a quarterfinal clash with Emma Navarro. The 21-year-old beat the American 6-3, 6-3 to reach the semifinals.

Andreeva vs. Shnaider Head-to-Head

The only prior encounter between the two came in the opening round of the 2024 Brisbane International, with Andreeva triumphing 6-2, 6-3.

Andreeva vs. Shnaider Prediction

Andreeva will enter the match as the favorite to win but Shnaider has often shown how good a player she is when at her best. So, the 21-year-old should not be written off at all.

Andreeva has won 47 out of 63 points (74.6%) on her first serve so far in Adelaide, serving four aces. However, she has also produced nine double faults and will hope not to serve too many of them against Shnaider. The teenager has also done well on her return so far, winning 58 out of 95 points (61.05%).

Andreeva has portrayed some fine shotmaking in Adelaide so far and will be eager to do the same against her compatriot. The 18-year-old’s power and versatlility will both come in very handy.

Shnaider has won 99 out of 132 points on her first-serve so far in Adelaide, serving eight aces and 17 double faults, something she will look to avoid against Andreeva. She will look to make the most out of her aggression and attacking prowess.

Shnaider has done well so far to reach as far as she has in Adelaide but at present, the chances of Andreeva winning are considerably higher, and the teenager should be able to book her place in the final of the WTA 500 event.

Pick: Andreeva to win in straight sets.
