Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Aleksandar Vukic Preview: Head-to-Head Prediction for Adelaide International 2026

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Aleksandar Vukic will lock horns for a place in the second round of the Adelaide International.

Stefanos Tsitsipas will start his campaign at the Adelaide International and he will take on Aleksandar Vukic in the first round. Whoever out of the two wins, will face either Gabriel Diallo or Andrea Vavassori for a place in the quarterfinals.

Tsitsipas, who is seeded seventh in Adelaide, had a disappointing 2025 season that was hampered by injuries, and did not win more than one match at a tournament after his quarterfinal exit at the Barcelona Open. The Greek ended his season after withdrawing from the Shanghai Masters and later, the Vienna Open.

He started 2026 at the United Cup and won all of his singles matches at the tournament, beating Shintaro Mochizuki, Billy Harris, and Taylor Fritz. However, he could not prevent Greece from being eliminated in the quarterfinals after a 1-2 defeat to the United States.

Vukic started his 2026 season with an opening-round defeat to Frances Tiafoe at the Brisbane International. The Aussie then entered the Adelaide International qualifiers and booked his place in the main draw after hard-fought wins over Luca Nardi (6-7(4), 6-3, 6-2) and Jacob Fearnley (6-4, 6-7(7), 6-3).

Tsitsipas vs. Vukic Head-to-Head

Tsitsipas leads the head-to-head 1-0, having thrashed Vukic 6-3, 6-0 in the second round of the 2024 Los Cabos Open.

Tsitsipas vs. Vukic Prediction

Tsitsipas will enter the match as the favorite to win and will be eager to have a good run in Adelaide after winning all of his matches at the United Cup. Even though his wins were against two considerably lower-ranked opponents and Taylor Fritz, who is battling knee issues, the Greek will be happy to bag a few wins after his 2025 struggles.

Tsitsipas had decent numbers on his first-serve during the United Cup, winning 109 out of 140 points (77.8%) and serving 18 aces in three matches. The Greek, at this point, will be eager to attack and finish points as early as he can against Vukic.

The Aussie’s first-serve numbers from his first three matches this season have not been as good as Tsitsipas’, as he won only 89 out of 129 points (68.99%), amassing 16 aces. Vukic is capable of fetching a lot of aces and he will look to dominate his service games. While Tsitsipas hasn’t been in the best of form, the Aussie will still have to play his best in order to get a win.

However, the Greek should have enough in order to bag a win and book his place in the second round in Adelaide.

Pick: Tsitsipas to win in straight sets.
