While NFL fans were watching the Jacksonville Jaguars battle the Buffalo Bills in an AFC Wild Card game on Sunday, they weren’t really enjoying Tony Romo, who was part of the CBS broadcast along with Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson.
Many of them shared their disdain for Romo’s commentary while the Bills took a 10-7 lead at halftime.
NFL World Not Too Happy With CBS’ Tony Romo
When reviewing some of Romo’s calls during the game, Awful Announcing’s account on X shared one of his calls.
As part of the online post, the account added, “We have our first weird Tony Romo noise of the afternoon”.

Greg Ehrenberg, director of DFS content for Skotastic, has issues with a call Romo made in the first half regarding Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Ehrenberg wrote, “Tony Romo saying that wasn’t a touchdown by Allen because the ref is talking really fast might be the worst logic I’ve ever heard from an announcer”.

Parker Buchele, who is a contributor for KC Kingdom, posted on X, “I just have to say it. I’ve had it with Tony Romo in the booth. He’s just infuriatingly bad. Mute worthy”. NFL analytics expert Warren Sharp also had thoughts on Romo’s commentary.

Shaun Morash, who is part of “Evan and Tiki with Shaun Morash,” posted on X, “In what game did Romo think the ref ruled a play didn’t happen? LOL he’s having a brutal day”.
Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, definitely wasn’t feeling it when listening to Romo go on about Allen on the broadcast. Portnoy headed out to X and posted, “I want to say that I unequivocally do not believe any Tony Romo observations about Josh Allen or this game in general.”
It’s been tough for NFL fans, who have also been critical of Kirk Herbstreit, who called Amazon Prime’s NFL playoff game alongside Al Michaels. But on Sunday, all the attention was on the former longtime quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. They probably hope Romo gets his act together in the second half.
