Young WTA star Victoria Mboko has recently shared her heartfelt reaction to her father, who was watching her court action along with Félix Auger-Aliassime’s father at the 2026 United Cup tournament. The WTA World No. 18, who made her debut at the mixed-gender tournament, gave impressive performances in both singles and doubles, taking her homeland to victory.
Victoria Mboko Shares an Admirable Message
Mboko and Auger-Aliassime are headlining Team Canada along with Alexis Galarneau, Kayla Cross, Ariana Arseneault, and Cleeve Harper. In a dominant fashion, they took out Team China in their first match, whose lineup featured Zhizhen Zhang, Zhu Lin, Xiaodi You, Rigele Te, and Aoran Wang.
In 1 hour and 39 minutes, Mboko was able to seal her victory against Zhu with a concluding score of 2-6, 6-2, 6-0. Whereas the ATP World No. 5 defeated Zhang with a final score of 6-4, 6-4, and in doubles, Mboko and Auger-Aliassime surpassed You and Te with a final score of 6-1, 6-3, making a clean sweep of China with a 3-0 victory.
Along with Canada’s fans, their court action was also being watched by both of their fathers, Cyprien Mboko and Sam Aliassime, who both hail from Africa. While expressing her heart-touching message regarding the moment, she added, “Got the dad’s vibin too 🥹 (face holding back tears emoticon).”

Auger-Aliassime, who primarily posted the picture through his recent Instagram post, added in the caption sharing his message on their notable win, “Not many better ways to kick off the year than with a clean sweep with the team 🇨🇦 Let’s go Canada ❤️🙌🏽 Shoutout to our Dads @vickymboko on the last slide 🙌🏽🌍 living it up 🤩.”

The 25-year-old, who is coming off an impressive season in which he won three titles: Open Occitanie, BNP Paribas Fortis European Open, and the Adelaide International, reflected positively on his performance, adding, “I can be very pleased with this first match of the year. Tennis is about rhythm, playing important points under pressure, so you never know what to expect. I woke up this morning hoping for the best, and then I played some of my best tennis.” (via United Cup)

Whereas, Mboko was named the WTA Newcomer of the Year for her last season, during which she claimed the Canadian Open and the Hong Kong Open, the second WTA titles of her career. Apart from the WTA, her successes on the ITF Tour are also impressive, as she has earned five titles to her name. In their next match, Team Canada will face Belgium on January 6 in Sydney.
