Sunday Night Football tends to turn routine matchups into made-for-TV events, and Week 17’s showdown between the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium is leaning all the way into that reputation.
With playoff positioning on the line and a national audience tuned in late, the NFL is pairing an incredible game with a first-of-its-kind halftime spectacle for the Bay Area. When the teams head to the locker rooms, fans inside the stadium will be treated to a debut production that shows how far Levi’s Stadium entertainment has evolved.
More About the Halftime Show at the 49ers-Bears Game
Halftime will feature the Bay Area Rock & Roll Laser Show, presented by Cisco. It will be the first-ever laser show staged during a game at Levi’s Stadium. The production is designed as a visual tribute to both the San Francisco 49ers and the broader Bay Area, blending rock-and-roll energy with cutting-edge light technology.
According to organizers, the show will project images directly onto the field, transforming the stadium into a canvas of color and motion. Adding to the immersive experience, fans in attendance will receive light-up LED wristbands, presented by U.S. Bank.
The wristbands are synchronized with the stadium’s LED lighting system and special effects, illuminating in unison during key moments of the game and throughout the halftime performance. It’s another first for Levi’s Stadium and part of a broader effort to make in-person attendance feel more interactive and cinematic.
According to sfgate.com, Levi’s Stadium recently completed a two-year, $200 million renovation that introduced new 4K video boards and upgraded LED sports lighting.
The halftime laser show serves as a high-profile display of those enhancements. While officials have kept some elements under wraps, the promise of “surprize” visuals and coordinated effects has fueled anticipation among fans.
The spectacle is just one piece of a packed entertainment lineup surrounding the game. Pregame ceremonies included a national anthem performance by R&B group All-4-One.
DJ The Les handled pregame music, while a flyover by the 940th Air Refueling Wing added a traditional NFL flourish. During the game, fans will also be treated to lighter moments, including crowd-favorite “K9ers” Corgi Race.
Meanwhile, both teams will enter the matchup at 11-4, with division titles and playoff seeding on the line. The Bears are chasing a third straight win and a chance to win the NFC North, while the 49ers are pushing toward an NFC West crown.
