Is Jayden Reed Injured? A Look at the Packers WR’s Status After Slow Start in Week 16 vs. Bears

Packers WR Jayden Reed has been rather quiet in the first half against the Bears at Soldier Field. What's happening with him?

With the Green Bay Packers holding a slim 6-0 lead at halftime against the Chicago Bears on Saturday night at Soldier Field, wide receiver Jayden Reed was involved less in the game.

So far, it’s been an uphill battle for Reed as he’s among the Packers’ wide receiving corps looking to get open downfield for the team.

What’s Happening With Packers WR Jayden Reed?

So far, Reed hasn’t caught a pass or even been among the wide receivers targeted in the first half.

The Packers are looking to finalize things in the NFC North Division. But the game between them and the Bears is a hard-hitting one. In fact, Love was hammered by a Bears defender and looked like he might have suffered a concussion.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and Green Bay medical personnel immediately rushed out to check on Love.

With Love out for the rest of the game, Reed and the other receivers will have to do a better job of getting open to help Malik Willis. Reed does not even rank among the top PFSN NFL WR Impact metrics at this point in the season, as he has played just four games heading into Week 16.

Reed has 12 catches for 131 yards and one touchdown catch for the Packers this season. He was a second-round draft pick out of Michigan State for the Packers in the 2023 NFL Draft.

For the Packers, the Saturday night showdown with the Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago, a cold and windy venue, matters for both teams. The Packers and Bears are in a dogfight for the NFC North Division lead. Who comes out in the second half and gets their offense in gear will end up on the winning side.

Willis has been performing well in place of Love. If he can keep the Green Bay offense humming, then LaFleur, if Love isn’t 100 percent, might just let Willis do his best to stay out there.

One thing’s for sure: The Packers and Bears are going to fight to the end. Reed might have a role to play in how things finish up in Chicago/
