Cardinals Predicted To Select 23-TD WR Early in 2026 NFL Draft To Form Elite 1–2 Punch With Marvin Harrison Jr.

The Arizona Cardinals could use another vertical threat, and they're projected to get one in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

While there’s plenty of uncertainty regarding Kyler Murray’s future and he will most likely be traded, the Arizona Cardinals still need to add more juice to their offense. Michael Wilson has emerged as a potential star when Marvin Harrison Jr. has been out.

Even so, the Ohio State star is still expected to be the team’s primary pass catcher for years to come. With that in mind, our Mock Draft has the Cardinals taking a perfect complement for him with the No. 8 pick.

The Cardinals Could Draft Jordyn Tyson

In this scenario, the Cardinals will give Jonathan Gannon a dynamic wideout in Jordyn Tyson, the star out of Arizona State:

“The Cardinals continue building an explosive offense by adding a home-run threat in Jordyn Tyson. His burst, downfield tracking, and ability to create separation instantly elevate the passing attack. His athleticism and reliable hands give Arizona a vertical dimension they have lacked opposite of Marvin Harrison Jr.

“His versatility to contribute in the slot or outside also expands the playbook. This is a high-upside addition for a team seeking dynamic playmakers.”

Taking the first wide receiver available worked just fine for the Cardinals a couple of years ago, and they would do the same again in a class that also features potential stars like Carnell Tate and Makai Lemon.

Tyson has some of the best hands in his class, and his elite and crisp route-running skills make scouts feel like he can be a superstar at the next level. He’s also elite in the end zone, as shown by logging 18 touchdown receptions in the past couple of seasons alone.

On the downside, he does come with some injury concerns. He sustained a massive multi-ligament knee injury in his freshman season at Colorado, tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL. Then, he sustained a collarbone injury that cost him the postseason in Colorado, and he’s now missed some time this season with a hamstring ailment.

His talent is notorious enough for most teams, including the Cardinals, to look the other way, but that’s still a factor to consider.

Even so, with all the questions at quarterback and with two ball-dominant players in Trey McBride and Harrison, plus the surge of Wilson, perhaps the Cardinals might consider another option with their first-round pick, especially if they keep losing games and end up with a higher draft pick at the end of the season.
