Get to Know the National Anthem Performer at the Buccaneers-Falcons Game
Before kickoff, singer-songwriter MAYCE, a St. Petersburg native returning home for the primetime event, will perform the national anthem, according to buccaneers.com.
MAYCE, born Macy Marshburn on January 19, 1998, in St. Petersburg, Florida, is an American singer-songwriter known for her powerful vocals, polished musicianship, and emotionally driven songwriting. Now based in Los Angeles, she has steadily built a multifaceted career that began when she was a teen.
Performing initially under the name Macy Kate, she entered the public eye through YouTube, where her cover songs garnered millions of views and a rapidly growing online following. Her visibility expanded through national television appearances, including stints on “The X Factor” and ABC’s “Rising Star,” where she finished in ninth place. Her early success also led to touring opportunities with artists such as Flo Rida and Sean Kingston.
A classically trained pianist since age five, MAYCE has long blended technical skill with modern pop sensibilities. But in 2023, she took a decisive step in redefining her career. Departing from her label, EMPIRE, and previous management, she rebranded from Macy Kate to MAYCE, which signaled a shift toward creative independence and more authentic self-expression. She has described the rebrand as an evolution.
Her post-rebrand sound draws from alternative, pop, and western influences, often featuring piano-centered arrangements. Among her notable releases are “The Man That I Met,” her first song under the MAYCE name, along with singles such as “Can’t Get Over Us,” a ballad rendition of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “Loved Out Loud,” and “Confidant Soul.” In 2025, she continued her momentum with multiple independent EPs, including “Snowed in Nights” and “Halfway to Healed,” following earlier projects like “Cry For Help.”
Thursday’s game will also see Tampa Bay’s annual Creamsicle Game, a fan-favorite celebration honoring the franchise’s original Bucco Bruce era. The Buccaneers will take the field in their retro Creamsicle uniforms, and fans arriving at the stadium will receive a special Creamsicle-themed T-shirt. The evening will feature enhanced in-game entertainment, special recognitions, and a Coast Guard flyover from Air Station Clearwater.
