Carlos Alcaraz, Jessica Pegula, Amanda Anisimova, João Fonseca’s Miami LoanDepot Park Event Hit With ‘Most Bizarre’ Claim From Fans

Carlos Alcaraz, João Fonseca, Jessica Pegula, and Amanda Anisimova's event at the Loandepot Park in Miami hit with criticisms from fans.

Top players, including Carlos Alcaraz, Jessica Pegula, and Amanda Anisimova, were scheduled to be in action at the Miami Invitational, an exhibition tennis event on December 8. However, the choice of venue for the event, the LoanDepot Park drew criticism from fans who were there at the stadium.

Fans Are Critical As the LoanDepot Park Becomes the Venue for the Miami Invitational

LoanDepot Park is a facility primarily used for Major League Baseball Games in Miami, and this was the first time the venue hosted a tennis event. As it turns out, the organisers created a make-shift tennis court on one side of the baseball ground, making the court appear odd in the middle of a large stadium.

Fans were disappointed with their experience while being at the matches live. One fan tweeted that this venue was unsuitable for hosting a tennis match as there were no good seats and the sounds of the tennis shots being hit were not audible beyond Row 15.

Posting his experience on social media, the fan wrote, ” Think this is the most bizarre venue for a tennis event I’ve ever attended Wild to pick this place for an exhibition. Not many desirable seats in LoanDepot Park for a tennis match. Can barely hear the ball in Row 15″.

Another fan pointed out that courts being repurposed for tennis was not a new thing in Miami. He pointed out that the Miami Open, a high-profile event on both the ATP and WTA Tours, is an equally unsuitable tennis venue, as it is repurposed for a tennis event despite being an NFL stadium.

Expressing his opinion on X, the fan wrote, ” Miami proving they can make the tennis experience worse than the Hard Rock campus. Not sure why they didn’t orient the court differently.

Another fan pointed out the same thing, stating, “They love making awful courts in Miami, it seems”.

The Miami Invitational is headlined by World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz, who will be facing off against Brazilian teen sensation João Fonseca in a hugely anticipated showdown. The women’s match is a big draw as well, featuring two top American players in Jessica Pegula and Amanda Anisimova.

The likes of Alcaraz, Pegula, and Anisimova were already part of another exhibition event in New Jersey. While Alcaraz won his match against Frances Tiafoe, Pegula won hers against Anisimova.
