On Friday night, the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics faced off in Massachusetts.
The Lakers weren’t competitive for most of the night, as they were playing without LeBron James, Luka DonÄŤić and Marcus Smart.
Bronny James got into the game at the end of the fourth quarter, and the former USC guard finished with five points, one assist and one steal while shooting 2/3 from the field and 1/2 from three-point range in seven minutes of playing time.
NBA Fans React To Bronny James’ Blunder Against Celtics
During his minutes, Bronny threw a pass out of bounds.
Many fans reacted to the blooper on social media:
@oldskoolbballx: “When LeBron James retires, in how many days his son will be out of the team roster?”
@pawellwitt: “Shooter is supposed to run to the corner not run away. Smh”
@RudyMontalvo32: “Ik this is a centel post… but he was throwing it to where Kleber SHOULDVE been. Wide open corner pocket and Maxi is tryna run to the wing🤦‍♂️”
@Prodbydoc_: “This starting to get mad lame, let the man hoop. We know how he plays, point proven.”
@NEVONIGHT99: “First time in history father and son retire in the same season 🔥🔥🔥”
As some fans noted, the play was not all of Bronny’s fault.
Kleber should have gone to the corner where he would have been open.
Bronny is now averaging 2.0 points and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 32.3% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range in his first 13 games of the 2025-26 season.
That said, the 21-year-old has only played more than ten minutes in four of those games.
His season-high is nine points while shooting 4/6 from the field on November 8 against the Atlanta Hawks.
