NHL Fans Left Speculating Over ‘heated’ Moment Involving Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson

NHL fans weigh in as the clip of a mysterious exchange between Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson of the Vancouver Canucks, emerges.

It is a usual belief that once you lose two consecutive games, you need to win the third. The Vancouver Canucks have now lost four successive games, most recently to the Utah Mammoth, and with that, the team is languishing at the bottom of the Pacific Division, faring worse than the Calgary Flames.

In times of difficulty in Vancouver, the team’s management may explore all trade options among its veteran players. Kiefer Sherwood and Evander Kane are foremost among them, but Elias Pettersson, who has a no-movement clause, is also not far behind. Meanwhile, a confusing clip featuring an interaction between Quinn Hughes and Pettersson has surfaced, sparking discussion on social media.

Cryptic Quinn Hughes- Elias Pettersson Exchange Has Got Fans Talking

Canucks fans need to witness a win from this team sooner rather than later. The Canucks captain recently came under fire for what was deemed an undesirable attitude by many fans. Now, an exchange with the 27-year-old standout forward of the team has garnered the attention of several social media users, sparking further speculation about the team’s fate.

“Quinn Hughes yelling at petey “wtf are you doing “ … “f******g idiot” – garland taps him on the back. YIKES,” shared one fan on social media, interpreting the conversation between the Canucks players. However, what was really said remains a mystery, with many claiming that despite Vancouver’s tough times, Hughes was unlikely to speak to Pettersson in such a manner.

“You can put any number of subtitles, and lip readers won’t be able to tell the difference. I doubt he actually said this,” commented one social media user in Hughes’ defense. While another echoed a similar sentiment, staunchly refusing to believe that the Canucks captain could ever have such an attitude towards a teammate. “Hughes would NEVER.”

Another alleged that while it is unlikely that the Canucks captain would say something as disrespectful as that, at any rate, Pettersson has trounced Hughes this season. “You’re making shit up, Also, Petey has been much better than Hughes this season.”

A Calgary Flames fan shared their piece of mind under the post, bluntly refuting the validity of the exchange, vouching for the fact that the Canucks captain most certainly did not lash out at the standout forward, “insane to make this post when you clearly have no idea how to read lips. i don’t either but i can tell that is absolutely not what he said.”

Hughes’ capabilities as the team’s captain have recently come under heavy scrutiny. Still, the fact remains that he is a calm and unobtrusive player and one of the best blueliners in the league at the moment. Despite the team’s shortcomings, it seems there is more fiction than fact to the purportedly heated exchange between Hughes and Pettersson.
