Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Quinnen Williams didn’t want to hang around and keep on losing with the New York Jets. So, the Cowboys, who have been looking for defensive help ever since trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, decided to make a deal.
Williams has played in three games since joining Brian Schottenheimer’s Cowboys. How is he doing?
What’s The Latest On Cowboys’ DL Quinnen Williams?
The Jets traded star Williams to the Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith. New York will receive the higher of the Cowboys’ two first-round selections in 2027.
Williams had his first start against the Las Vegas Raiders, a 33-16 Dallas win at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Nov. 17. In his first game, Williams had one solo tackle, three assisted tackles, and one tackle for loss. He also totaled five quarterback hits against Raiders quarterback Geno Smith.
In his next game, a 24-21 Dallas win over Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 23 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Williams totaled one solo tackle, one quarterback hit, and one tackle for loss on Hurts.

Then, last Sunday, Williams had one solo tackle and three assisted tackles in the Cowboys’ 31-28 victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Williams even had one quarterback hit on Mahomes in the ballgame.
So, to total up Williams’ contributions to the Dallas defense, he’s had three solo tackles, six assisted tackles, two tackles for loss, and seven quarterback hits. That’s a solid statistical line for just three games with his new team. Additionally, the Cowboys have won all three of Williams’ starts as he’s boosted their defensive efforts.
According to the PFSN NFL DT Impact metrics, Williams has an impact score of 91.0 and grades out to an A+. That data, in itself, grades this trade as a win for the Cowboys. In 11 total games for the Jets and Cowboys, Williams has 2.5 sacks, 10 quarterback hits and 41 total tackles — 21 of those are solo tackles for him.
Williams will look to pad his statistics on “Thursday Night Football” as the Cowboys travel to Ford Field in Detroit, where they will square off against Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions. As the Cowboys make a push toward getting into NFL postseason play, they’re likely very happy that Williams has provided depth and production along the defensive front.
