The Kansas City Chiefs suffered a back-breaking loss to the Dallas Cowboys, putting their playoff hopes in grave jeopardy. The defending AFC champs have now dropped three of their last four games and have a lot of work to do to get back to the postseason.
Despite the recent string of bad news, one of the Chiefs’ premier wideouts got an eye-opening pay raise after his ten-yard touchdown catch on Thanksgiving.
How Did Hollywood Brown Earn a Raise Against Dallas?
The Kansas City Chiefs are 6-6, which currently places them tenth in the AFC. Andy Reid’s team is two games back of the No. 7 seed in the conference, with the AFC West far out of reach.
The latest result was one of the more disappointing ones during this recent slide as the Chiefs lost a 31-28 road clash to the surging Dallas Cowboys. Patrick Mahomes and company were favored going into this Thanksgiving showdown, but they struggled to contain an explosive Cowboys offense.
The offense, however, did its part, thanks to a talented wideout group that includes Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. The veteran receiver had an encouraging performance from a financial standpoint, and now he’s just 41 yards from hitting another bonus on his current deal.

Hollywood Brown is on the verge of surpassing 500 yards for the sixth time in his NFL career. The former Oklahoma standout re-signed with the Chiefs this offseason on a one-year, $7 million deal that can reach up to $11 million with performance-based incentives.
The Chiefs will surely need the 28-year-old to continue his steady production as they look to the last five games on their schedule. Patrick Mahomes has made it clear that the NFL’s latest dynasty has to win every game from here on out to make the postseason, which is pretty accurate.
The three Wild Card spots currently belong to 8-4 squads, and two of these teams, the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Chargers, already hold wins over the Chiefs. Andy Reid’s team will have the opportunity to even the score with the Chargers on December 14, but first will host a red-hot Houston Texans squad that has won four straight games.
The Chiefs’ ten-year playoff streak is ultimately on life support heading into Week 14, which is certainly unexpected considering preseason expectations. Hollywood Brown, however, could play a massive role in this franchise’s resurgence over the next few weeks.
