Blackhawks Sensation Connor Bedard Makes Feelings Clear on Duking It Out With Ducks’ Mason McTavish

After the Chicago Blackhawks made an exceptional comeback against the Anaheim Ducks, Connor Bedard admitted his true feelings about Mason McTavish.

The Chicago Blackhawks’ leading point-scorer of the season and generational talent, Connor Bedard, pulled an exceptional comeback against the Anaheim Ducks at the United Center on Sunday. In an act that might just go down in Blackhawks history, Bedard carried the team to an exhilarating, much-needed victory.

Amid the overarching joy of finally getting past the five-game losing streak and moving to a more respectable position in the standings, Bedard made his feelings clear about the rival Anaheim Ducks’ standout center, Mason McTavish.

Connor Bedard Speaks Out About Ducks’ Mason McTavish

Win or lose, Bedard’s camaraderie speaks volumes about the 20-year-old. Bedard fully orchestrated the 5-3 win against the Ducks, securing two goals and two assists, which completely turned the game around in the third period, ultimately securing a victory over the Ducks. Of course, a more consistent play from the Blackhawks would have been the ideal turn of events, but the outcome is all that matters.

Despite it all, Bedard had only affirmative words to share about the 22-year-old McTavish.

McTavish had one assist against the Blackhawks, and while Anaheim appeared poised to win against Chicago, the Ducks’ efforts fell short. However, despite his team’s dizzying victory, Bedard was thoroughly appreciative of McTavish, revealing the deep friendship that exists between the two young NHL players.

At a post-game media availability, the Blackhawks forward shared how McTavish and he had once been roommates who played on the same team. Bedard also admired the Ducks forward’s hockey skills and competitive spirit.

“I was roommates with him, I was on the same team with him for a couple years, and everything we do, he’s trying to make it a competition. Such a great player, such a good competitor,” the 20-year-old stated.

Bedard further noted that players like McTavish were inherently “fun” to play against, likely due to their competitive mindset. “He’s a fun guy to play against. Obviously fun to go at it with him. I’ll probably say hi to him right now. But it’s fun to play guys like that.”

Bedard’s post-game admission about McTavish is a testament to the 20-year-old’s impeccable sportsmanship and camaraderie that transcend team loyalties.
