Amanda Anisimova recently reflected on her 2025 season after concuding it with a semifinal run at the WTA Finals. She was seeded fourth but had a difficult start to the tournament, losing her opening match to the eventual champion, Elena Rybakina.

However, the World No. 4 bounced back, defeating Madison Keys and former champion Iga Świątek in her next two group matches to advance to the semifinals, where she lost to eventual runner-up Aryna Sabalenka.

Amanda Anisimova Looks Back on Her 2025 Tennis Season

After wrapping up her season in Riyadh, Anisimova took to social media to share a series of pictures highlighting some of her special moments from 2025. She described the year as one filled with “milestones,” “heavy losses,” “cathartic moments,” and much more.

The World No. 4, who announced an indefinite break from tennis in 2023 to prioritize her mental health, made a comeback in January 2024 and had one of the best seasons of her career this year.

“&&& that’s a wrap for my 2025 season 🥹🫶🏼 It was a year filled with milestones, heavy losses, cathartic moments, new cities, lessons, heartfelt memories, and the chance to meet some phenomenal people, along with everything else in between,” Anisimova captioned her Instagram post.

Anisimova expressed gratitude for the support she received from her family, team, friends, and sponsors, stating that they helped her navigate her “chaotic life.”

“With all that said, my 2025 wouldn’t have been the same or nearly as special, if it weren’t for the incredible people I have in my life. My family, my one of a kind team, my support system/best friends, my fans, my sponsors, and all those whom I love very much and couldn’t imagine living this chaotic life without,” she continued.

The 24-year-old revealed that throughout the year, she felt “genuine joy” and mentioned that she cannot wait to do it all over again in 2026.

“I’ve felt genuine joy throughout pretty much this whole year, whether it was at home or on the road. And to me, that’s my biggest win of 2025. Can’t wait to do it all again next year x,” Anisimova added.

This year, Anisimova claimed two titles, winning the Qatar Open and the China Open. She also finished as the runner-up at the Wimbledon Championships and the US Open, losing to Iga Świątek and Aryna Sabalenka, respectively.

The World No. 4 also reached the semifinals at the Charleston Open and advanced to the quarterfinals at the Hobart International, Trophée Clarins, and the Berlin Tennis Open.
