Paula Badosa Celebrates Emma Raducanu’s 23rd Birthday With Heartfelt Wish

Raducanu turned 23rd on Nov. 13 this year. The Brit shared glimpses of her birthday celebration on Instagram, where she is seen having fun with England’s rugby team.

Badosa, on the other hand, shared a compilation of photos on her Instagram Story showing her and Raducanu’s growing friendship, from on-court hugs and smiles at tournament events to casual dinner moments.

She captioned it, “Happy Birthday Emmita. @emmaraducanu keep being you. #scorpiogang,” which is a nod to their shared zodiac sign since Badosa’s own birthday falls just two days later, on Nov. 15. The pair have even given each other fun nicknames- Paulita and Emmita.

Both players often show their love and support for each other on social media. Just a few weeks ago, the Spaniard showed a supportive gesture to Raducanu during the Asian swing. At the time, both players were dealing with tough results and eventually wrapped up their season at the China Open.

Raducanu had shared some fun photos from her trip where she was exploring cafés, trying local food, and enjoying a break from matches. She captioned her post, “Asia thus far.” Under that post, Badosa left a sweet comment, “Such a cutie❤️ pd: thanks for listening to me 🫂.”

The Story Behind Badosa and Raducanu’s Close Bond

Badosa and Raducanu became close friends in 2024 when both were dealing with the challenges of comebacks and injuries. Before their much-awaited match at the Citi D.C. Open in 2024, Badosa talked about her growing bond with Raducanu.

“With her, honestly we spoke a lot. We had chats even off court. We went for lunch, for breakfast,” said Badosa.

Badosa’s empathy towards Raducanu came from her own journey. Like the Brit, she faced constant attention after her early success. Having dealt with injuries and setbacks, she knew how tough constant comparisons and media pressure could be.

“I had a little bit of the same in my career. Especially when you feel that anything you do, it’s going to be crazy on social media. In her case, it’s like that,” said Badosa.

Their shared vulnerability became the base of a strong friendship. Badosa praised Raducanu for learning to handle fame and pressure better, saying, “She’s found a balance. It’s never going to be easy in her case because, as I say, anything she does, it’s going to get crazy. But it’s part of it. I think she has to find the beautiful part of it. That’s what I’m trying to find also. It’s nice that we can share our own experiences.”

Their friendship was evident on the practice courts as well. The two were often seen training together, sharing laughs between sessions. After a not-so-favorable 2025 season, the duo will look forward to regaining their form heading into 2026.
