Alperen Şengün proved once again why he’s one of the brightest stars in the NBA today. The Houston Rockets took on the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. It was an epic battle between two duos. Şengün and Kevin Durant versus Giannis Antetokounmpo and Myles Turner.

During one of the plays in the Rockets versus Bucks game, Şengün resembled a point guard after showing his dribbling prowess against Milwaukee. Şengün found himself on top of the key with Antetokounmpo attempting to clamp him. However, the Rockets center managed to break free with his quick first step. Turner then came to help, but Şengün quickly thought to spin away and hit an and-one opportunity inside the paint.

The Rockets’ big man was naturally hyped up and proud of himself after the play and ended up flexing his arms after. Apparently, his flexing was all worth it as Houston came up with a 122-115 victory over Milwaukee.
Carrying the Rockets to victory were none other than Durant and Şengün. Durant was his team’s top scorer, adding 31 points and seven assists. As for Şengün, he had a double-double performance to support his duo efficiently. The Rockets center put up 23 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists.
While Durant and Şengün were the main stars of the show, four other Rockets players were also in double figures. These were, namely, Jabari Smith Jr., Reed Sheppard, Amen Thompson, and Steven Adams.
Smith Jr. nearly had a double-double performance himself, adding 16 points and nine rebounds. Sheppard showed his versatility on the court, providing efficient numbers on both offense and defense. He scored 16 points, had four steals, and blocked one shot.
Meanwhile, Thompson had an all-around performance. He added 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block. As for Adams, he put up 12 points and six rebounds.
Despite adjusting to a new rotation after getting rid of key players Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks, the Rockets appear to be doing just fine with Durant now in their lineup.
After the Rockets’ victory over the Bucks, they now have a 6-3 record, putting them in fifth place in the Western Conference. Houston is scheduled to take on the Washington Wizards next, on Wednesday. Based on the Wizards’ current standing (1-9), this should be a walk in the park for the Rockets. This is especially true now that Şengün seems to be a much stronger player this season.
