While it seems to be a yearly trend, Atlanta Falcons fans are once again upset with tight end Kyle Pitts. The fifth-year TE came into this game with 43 receptions for 382 yards, but has posted a career low in yards per reception. Some of that may be on the quarterback play, but his 8.9 yards per reception is nowhere near the 12.8 it was a year ago or the 15.1 he posted as a rookie. Clearly, Pitts is regressing, and fans aren’t happy.

Even though the Falcons led the Indianapolis Colts at the half, 14-13, fans were far from satisfied. Atlanta is just 3-5 this season, for numerous reasons, but the way Pitts is playing goes to show why their offense is struggling as much as it is. With a key chance to beat a top team in the NFL and turn things around, Pitts seemed to forget how to play football.

Another commented, “KYLE PITTS Catch Rating is 0 Zero 0. A Complete waste of a 1st draft pick, & space on the Atlanta Falcons roster.”
Knowing that Pitts was a first-round pick and this is his fifth year in the league, Falcons fans would’ve expected these problems to be solved by now. They’ve yet to give up on Pitts, though some fans are wishing they would, “Man, I’d bench Kyle Pitts for that. Dropping a wide open pass that hits you in the hands, would’ve went for 40 yards or something… and that turns into a Penix sack fumble and Colts TD. Brutal.”
“Take Pitts to the bench for rest of the drive… don’t be dropping that dude…” another commented as Falcons fans clealry aren’t happy with his drop. It’s not like the drop cost his team the game, but it was yet another reason for Falcons fans to give up on the 25-year-old, “Bench Kyle Pitts. Right now.”

“Kyle Pitts is a bust,” one fan said after his disastrous first-half performance. Someone responded with a gif of a child dropping a ball, dubbing it as, “Kyle Pitts career highlight reel.” Someone said, “the Pitts drop was so bad I almost turned off the TV.” Clearly, fans aren’t happy, but Raheem Morris has shown no signs of changing things anytime soon.
