Skyler Bell is a wide receiver from UConn projected to be selected in the 2026 NFL Draft. This comprehensive scouting report analyzes Bell’s draft potential, current mock draft trends, and where he ranks among the top prospects.
Skyler Bell’s NFL Draft Potential
Skyler Bell is one of the most compelling mid-round WR prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft. A product of Watertown, Connecticut, he began his career as a three-star recruit signing at Wisconsin in 2021. Though he caught just one pass in 2021, Bell had high expectations in 2022 as a potential catalyst for the Badgers’ passing offense — and he delivered to a degree.
As a redshirt freshman, Bell caught 30 passes for 444 yards and five touchdowns, accounting for almost 25% of his team’s scoring production through the air. He also logged 13 carries for 160 yards, proving his mettle as a schemed-touches weapon and RAC asset. Bell came back looking to take another step in 2023, but his production stagnated with Tanner Mordecai at the helm, and he ended up transferring to UConn — both to move close to home, and to capitalize on an opportunity to start and produce right away.
Bell’s move to UConn has been an incredibly productive one. He caught 50 passes for 860 yards and five TDs in 2024, and through just nine games thus far in 2025, he’s racked up 74 receptions for 994 yards and 11 TDs, surpassing his career-highs and becoming one of the nation’s most prolific producers.
At 6’0″ and a lean 185 pounds, Bell has around average size and is a good functional athlete, with enough burst and speed to stack from multiple alignments — but his short-area quickness, twitch, foot speed, and angle freedom serve as his most central athletic traits. Bell has dynamic RAC ability on schemed targets with his effervescent agility and burst through seams, and he’s also shown he can control his quickness with sharp precision and intent as a route runner.
While Bell can still prove himself a bit more against press coverage, he’s shown he can use his twitch, foot speed, and angle freedom to offset and capitalize at stems, and he can use smooth throttle control and tempo manipulations to work defenders off-balance before scraping past with targeted physicality. He struggled with drops in 2024, but even there, he’s improved in 2025. He’ll be a 24-year-old rookie, but Bell can compensate for that by serving as a high-floor, immediate contributor with inside-outside versatility and usage flexibility.
