WTA Finals 2025 came to an end, with Elena Rybakina producing a stupendous performance to beat Aryna Sabalenka 6-3, 7-6(0) to win her third title of the season. The Kazakh, who was close to not making the year-end tournament, fought off her shoulder issues to win every single match in Riyadh, thus earning the biggest payday of her career so far.
Taking a Look at Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina’s Enormous Paydays at WTA Finals
The total prize pool at the year-end championships is a whopping $15.5 million, and Rybakina’s victory will see her earn $5.235 million, which is the largest prize money awarded to a player this year, surpassing the $5 million Sabalenka won for winning the US Open.
The Kazakh fetched $1,065,000 for her three round-robin wins over Amanda Anisimova, Iga Świątek, and Ekaterina Alexandrova ($355,000 for each victory), and earned another $1,290,000 for her semifinal victory over Jessica Pegula. Rybakina’s final victory bagged her an extra $2,540,000, not to forget she will also receive a participation fee of $340,000. Additionally, she will also return to the Top 5 of the WTA rankings.
Sabalenka’s runner-up finish will see her leave Riyadh with a prize money of $2.695 million. Pegula and Anisimova will both earn $1.05 million for their semifinal finishes at the WTA Finals. Besides the participation fee, the two Americans bagged $355,000 for each of their two round-robin wins at the year-end tournament.
Iga Świątek and last year’s champion Coco Gauff both exited the WTA Finals in the round-robin stage with one win each. The Pole and the American will each earn a prize money of $695,000 ($355,000+$340,000).
Jasmine Paolini was the only player to compete in both the singles and doubles events in Riyadh, and she did not fare well in either. The Italian lost all of her singles matches, so she will only receive the participation fee of $340,00 for competing iin all three matches.
Australian Open champion Madison Keys was one of the eight qualifiers for the WTA Finals but she withdrew from the tournament due to illness after losing her first two matches. The World No. 7 will earn a participation fee of $280,000 for competing in two fixtures. She was replaced by alternate Ekaterina Alexandrova, who will earn a participation fee of $210,000. Mirra Andreeva, the other singles alternate, will receive a fee of $150,000.
WTA Finals 2025 Doubles Prize Money
Fourth seeds Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens won the women’s doubles title at the WTA Finals after defeating seventh seeds Timea Babos and Luisa Stefani 7-6(4), 6-1 in the final. The Russian-Belgian pair will receive a prize money of $1.067 million. This includes a participation fee of $142,000, $144,000 for their two round-robin victories, $257,000 for their semifinal win, and $524,000 for triumphing in the final. Babos and Stefani will receive $543,000 for their runner-up finish.
Second seeds Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend, and sixth seeds Hsieh Su-wei and Jeļena Ostapenko dominated the round-robin but were both eliminated in the semifinals. Both teams will earn a total prize money of $358,000, that includes the participation fee and the amount for winning all three of their round-robin fixtures.
Top seeds Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, and third seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routcliffe both got a win during the round-robin, and these two teams will each bag $214,000. Fifth seed Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider and eighth seeds Asia Muhammad and Demi Schuurs failed to win a single match at the WTA Finals and the teams will each receive their participation fee of $142,000.
The two doubles alternates in Riyadh, namely, Anna Dalinina and Aleksandra Krunić, and Guo Hanyu and Alexandra Panova, will each receive a participation fee of $62,000 after not playing any matches at the WTA Finals.
