His alma mater, Haughton High School in Louisiana, officially dedicated its football field as “Prescott Field” in his name. The celebration on Thursday, Nov. 6, which the town also declared “Dak Prescott Day,” was a heartfelt homecoming for the star quarterback, who was joined by his fiancée, Sarah Jane, and their two children for the emotional event.

Following the ceremony, Sarah Jane shared a touching message on her Instagram story, capturing the pride of the moment. She wrote, “So unbelievably proud of everything he stands for,” as she reposted photos from the event.
The event was a true celebration of Prescott’s journey. He, Jane, and their daughter Margaret Jane walked onto the field together as fireworks lit up the sky.
They were greeted by students, cheerleaders, and former teammates, many of whom wore shirts with Prescott’s numbers from his playing days: 6 for Haughton, 15 for Mississippi State, and 4 for the Dallas Cowboys.
This full-circle moment was amplified by a massive new scoreboard, which played video highlights from Prescott’s career, from his earliest games at Haughton to his time at Mississippi State and his current role with the Cowboys. That same scoreboard, along with significant upgrades to the school’s weight room, was made possible by a donation of more than $1 million that Prescott made before the 2025 season.
Several influential figures from Prescott’s past spoke at the ceremony, including former principal Gene Couvillion and coach Rodney Guin. Guin shared his perspective on the young man he coached.
“I never knew for certain how great a football player Dak would be,” Guin said, via BossierPress.com. “But I was always certain how great a person he would be.”
When it was his turn to speak, Prescott expressed his gratitude to the community that shaped him.
“This is a special moment,” he said. “Knowing that people have come all over to Haughton, Louisiana, my hometown, to show support and show love, is truly incredible. The kind of support here tonight is the exact reason we are here today.”
Prescott also thanked his late mother, Peggy Prescott, and remembered his brothers, Tad and Jace, who also played football for Haughton. He recalled how much it meant to him to wear the same uniform when his turn came. Before the ceremony ended, Prescott said he hoped the field would inspire future players just as past Haughton athletes had inspired him.
