Does Caleb Downs Have Any Relationship with Josh Downs?

Yes, Caleb is the younger brother of Josh Downs, and the two grew up together in Suwanee, Georgia. Josh plays as a wide receiver for the Colts and Caleb as a safety for the Buckeyes, but they have long trained and competed together. The brothers continue to support each other, and Josh has frequently expressed his pride in Caleb’s accomplishments.

Their brotherhood was on display again this month when Josh switched his jersey number from No. 1 to No. 2 after the Colts traded for cornerback Sauce Gardner. The move seemingly didn’t hurt him, as it is the same number Caleb wears at Ohio State.

However, fans have also seen a touch of brotherly rivalry between the two during an episode of the “Colts Show” podcast in 2023 when Josh spoke about facing Caleb in practice.

“I did one-on-ones with him one time, and I was cooking him,” Josh said. “But I don’t know about now. We’ll have to go back home and see who’s better now”.

The brothers launched a podcast together titled “Downs 2 Business” in August, where they share stories about their lives and football journeys. They also co-founded “The Trust Downs Foundation” to give back to their community.

Josh and Caleb are the children of Gary and Tanya Downs. Both Tanya and Gary graduated from NC State. Gary was an NFL running back for the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and Atlanta Falcons. He now serves as a representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Gwinnett County, and is a partner with Born to Compete, an organization focused on youth athletic development and competition. The Downs brothers also have a sister, Kameron, who played women’s soccer at Kennesaw State University.

Josh and Caleb’s uncle, Dré Bly, was also a former NFL cornerback who played in the league for more than a decade. He played for the St. Louis Rams, Detroit Lions, Broncos, and San Francisco 49ers.
